Re: Parking Ticket

This letter is a follow up letter regarding the parking ticket I received on August 16, 2004. I received a ticket stating that I was 1 foot from the hydrant. In regards to this matter I need some place to park because the fire department blocked off the streets due to a fire in an apartment building which is directing behind from where I work. From Wilshire to 8th around 8th to Normandie was blocked off., I park on 7th and Harvard. The fire department didn't let people into there parking lots until 3:00p.m. This is the reason why I disagree with paying for a ticket when I pay for monthly parking every month and was not able to park in my monthly parking space. I also disagree with administrative investigation decision. I don't think I should pay for ticket when I wasn't my fault. I would appreciate if you did a further investigation regarding this parking ticket and why I had to park four to five blocks long from my job to park Also if you like to verified that there was a fired you can contact Department of Transportation, they are the ones that calls for the meter maids. There number is (323) 644-6664 and ask for Mr. Bivens, he can verified if there was a fire at all.

If we can't come to agreeable terms, I would like to request a hearing before the city hearing examiner. The city states: The City of Los Angeles allows individuals to contents citation without paying first the fine, but only in case where the individual can document that they under guidelines established by the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development as a very low income household.

Amber, I just ran across your report, and in view of the fact that there have been countless problems and injustices with regard to appealing unfair or bogus parking tickets in the City of Los Angeles, I'm just curious what happened in your situation. Were you excused from paying for that ticket?
