Charlotte,#2Consumer Suggestion
Fri, August 22, 2008
Bonnie - I am sorry to hear about this happening to you. It is sad how companies can take advantage of people with things like this. I believe you that you cancelled your membership and they probably purposely ignored it. I would make sure and stay on them to refund your money if at all possible. Personally, I go over my bank statements and credit card bills very carefully each month to make certian that I am not being charged for anything I'm not supposed to be. I am not trying to be rude at all, but as a friendly suggestion it might be a good idea to pay more attention to what is being charged to your card. It is by no means your fault what happened to you, it's just much easier to take care of such situations if it is caught immediately. Also, keeping a closer watch on this would be helpful for you if someone did get ahold of your credit card number and decided to charge an even larger amount on it. I wish you the best and hope that you can get everything straightened out.
