I was out in California visiting my sister and was on the computer trying to get support for a camcorder I purchased when a popup with Cathys blog appeared on my screen. The woman identified herself as living in Erie PA. I live in Erie PA and thats why I even considered an interest in the blog at all. I do have tobacco stained teeth so I decided to go with her "advice".
I ordered the risk free trial for Clean Whites on Nov 27th and they charged my bank account .99$. Minuets later I checked and susequently checked for a confirmation e-mail and never received one. I did not receive from the post office my free trial untill yesterday afternoon 12-09-09. I opened up the package and read the packing slip/ instruction sheet. Included in the packaging was a seperate slip with a telephone number stating to call befor using product. That recorded message promises 1500.00$ for a chosen individual with the best results for future advertisements.
The information said I had to cancel by 12-12-09 so as not to be charged. Gimmick. Considering that gave me two days and not the 5-6 days recommend for the trial I got suspicious. Went on the website from Google and seen the Ripoff report website. I didn't hesitate to cancel my credit card immediately. Better safe then sorry!!
Since last night and this morrning this is what transpired.
1) The customer service link on the bottom of the webpage has expired and noone is answering the phone. Will keep Ripoff Report posted as to further efforts.
More importantly is what happened in conjunction with this product as a participant on Cathys blog was a company called Denta White Kits that according to the blog was to be used together with Clean Whites to achieve the results on the blog. After I went back to the blog I noticed Advertisement on the top of the webpage. First mistake I made.
After going through the ordering process for that product and its claim for a 14 day trial this is what happend. 1) They never charged my account the .99$ from my credit card and no confirmation e-mail either. I recieved that package the same time I got the Clean Whites Kit 11 days later.
They went ahead without authorization and charged my bank account 92.00 and change. I immeadiately disputed that charge and I am in the process of trying to return it. No packing slip with the product, no invoice, no nothing except product.
I believe this scam is tied into Clean Whites? BEWARE Will keep Ripoff Reports posted as to further developments.
