I hired Coast to Coast Movers LLC to move my three bedroom home from Mississippi to Georgia. The cost was to be 3000 after going through my inventory with them. Normal household items. Some of which I already had packed. I paid 1200 up front. Then to pay 900 on pick up and 900 on delivery day. Seemed reasonable enough. When they arrived they were in a Ryder truck. Said the semi truck would not come into the neighborhood. I didn’t know any better so I believed it. They came in and immediately started complaining that I didn’t disclose how much I had. Which I did. Why would I not tell them what I have. This is my inventory to protect me from theft. So they knew what they were picking up. The coast to coast office guy Scott calls me. Says it’s going to be 1100 additional. After going through everything again he says he didn’t have an ottoman in his list and a tv was not on it. So 1100 more to haul these. At this point I had to move I agreed to pay it. So now I’ve given them 1200 on day one. and an additional 500 over the phone. . And another 1200 due on pick up . With 1200 being due on delivery.
Now I get to three days later they arrive in Georgia with my things. And I get a call from Spirit Van Lines that they have my things and it’s 4900 to deliver!!! Because my things weighed 34,000 pounds!!! Now you tell me how a truck that only weighs 15000 pounds can carry twice it’s weight. And there isn’t any way I have that much weight including the house they took it out of! But I had no choice they refused to deliver my things unless I paid. I didn’t have 4900. So now the guy who I can barely understand starts wanting to negotiate. I ended up giving these thieves 2500 in money orders and another 990 on my credit card. So now I’ve given them a total of 1200,500,1200,2500,990 totalling 6990 For what should have been 3000. Now I’ll jump days later.
I’m unpacking and EVERYTHING of any value is GONE! So not only did they rob my wallet. But they have so far from what I can tell .... they have stolen nearly 12,000 dollars of items from my home. I am filing a police report Monday morning. And filing a claim with my home owners insurance. But I need help. I want these people locked up. They are criminals. Operating behind a truck. Holding your belongings hostage knowing that they have the upper hand because they have everything you own on a truck. Please help me put these criminals behind bars!!!!
