I received a letter from Collect Pros on February 25, 2016, that stated "This is an attempt to collect a debt". The reference number is 1011217. It indicated that an overdue balance of $58.45 was due for a product called "VFSkin Mask". I have never heard of VFSkin Mask, and I certainly did not order it.
The letter states "Unless you notify us within thirty (30) days after your receipt of this letter that the validity of this debt, or any portion of it, is displuted, we will assume that the debt is valid."
This is an invalid debt as I never placed an order for a product I've never heard of. It is a waste of my valuable time to have to dispute something that did not take place, and to fight a collection agency that does not provide a human to answer the phone. I called the phone number (877-439-1825) shown in the letter to speak to someone, and it only allows you to pay them via automated system or by the website. The letter also states that their website is www.collectpros.com, but guess what! You can only pay them, and there is no option to contact them.
The letter states they will report the debt and file a judgement. What can be done? I am sending a letter of dispute to the address shown which requires their signature showing it was delivered. I suspect there will be no one to sign, especially since they only list a PO Box. What does a person do as it does not seem the collection agencies are regulated and they report whatever they want whether a debt is valid or not?
