Comcast cable sucks!

Last night, I had a scheduled appointment for a tech to come to my house between 5:00 8:00 to fix my cable. I cancelled my activities for the evening to wait for this guy. HE NEVER SHOWED UP! I couldn't believe the guy never showed up. I didn't even get a courtesy phone call. What's wrong with these people? It was my one-day off and I sat around between 5 and 8 waiting for these idiots. I called Comcast and they couldn't even locate the Tech.

How appropriate was it when the news came on TV last night showing the Comcast Tech sleeping at a customer's house!! Could this have been the Tech that I was waiting for?!

What company tells you they will be out to your home between 5:00 8:00? That's a sign that they have a horrible customer service record. Comcast is inconsiderate and rude.

I'm so disgusted with Comcast cable. They continue to raise rates and have nothing to show for it. Whatever happened to customer service? I'm thankful I only have cable thru Comcast and not anything else. I'm switching to DirectTV.

Phone companies, Gas, Electric, Maytag, Sears, all kinds of companies do this. Pretty much any company that does service calls. I waited for the phone company to come and turn on my phone for 4 days in a row. Never showed up until I practically screamed at them. Each time they promised a time-a four hour window, which is common btw- and never showed up. Each time I would call and they say they didn't have a record of the service call. Although each time I called the number for starting up new service and went through the address, times, etc. AND I had the name of the person I spoke with, and the exact time that I spoke to them. Then when we tried to hook up phone service at another location I went through the same crap again for 2 days! Only the second time, because it was a business location that we had yet to move into, I didn't get to sit at home and stare at the tv, I had to wait in my car all day. I finally insisted that whoever was going to hook up my service needed to call me when he was on his way out (about a 15 min. trip) and I would meet him there. The whole point is many companies do this. They don't really care since you need them anyhow. Same as the gas station doesn't care how much you complain about the price of gas- you're going to buy it. So switch to (((competitor's name ROR redacted - see below))). I had them for 2 years without a problem! Once- when storm season was so bad that peoples' cars were getting smashed by falling trees and our roof colapsed- did our service ever go out. And it was back on again in less than a minute. Yet everyone in our neighborhood that had cable would have it go on and off 24/7 while the cable company did "upgrades" which no one knows how it is any better. So Troy... I bet she will have good luck with (((redacted))). How petty to throw a stupid comment in like that. It's so typical. I have never seen a (((redacted))) advertisement badmouthing cable. YET every single cable commercial I see goes after (((redacted))). Why?? It is so annoying. Even IF cable was better... start advertising WHY it is better, and stop saying how bad (((redacted))) is. ALL of the features I have heard cable advertise the service as is IFFY. However everything I see them say about (((redacted))) is untrue, at least in my experience with them. So yes Kelly... I think you should switch without a doubt. Who wants to do business with a company that doesn't care about you anyhow, and they can't tell you why you should have cable, only that (((redacted))) is bad. sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome! I too have scheduled appointments for Comcast technicians to install cable for me--three times. And all three times--nobody has shown up. Comcast HQ is very good about calling you to remind you about your appointment. Their customer service reps. can locate your technician over the phone. But nobody has ever shown up. On my days off of work, I'll be waiting at home practically all day, for nothing! Finally, I decided I could live without cable. It's obvious that this company doesn't want my business that badly!

Kelly, I agree with you, switch to Direct TV. Better reception and better service. In our area Northland Cable is the local cable Rip-Off service, a Rip-Off company out of Seattle, Washington, and man do they suck. The company is owned by John Wetzell, and he sucks too! I have Direct TV, but my neighbors are always complaining about the Northland Cable Company. One of their frustrated customers called and told the receptionist his cable goes out every time his dog pisses, and she told him to get rid of the dog. The cable channel line-up sucks, in that they give you all the shopping networks, religious channels and any other channel that is being transmitted for free. In all though, I guess it does not matter what they offer because their service will go out just in time for the ballgame or movie. The service man may have been fired for sleeping in a chair, but he got a job the next day at Northland Cable TV.

Comcast did similar things to me. I had one appointment scheduled where they called prior to the tech arriving. I didn't make it to the phone in time and they cancelled the appointment. I called the number given on the voice message within two minutes. I was told there was nothing they could do about it except reschedule. I rescheduled for a week later and the tech didn't show up. After waiting the mandatory three hours I called. The service rep told me the order was entered but didn't get "sent to the truck". I was told they would be glad to set up another appointment the following week. That is the point where I switched to another service. Comcast has the worst possible service.

Thanks for your response, Troy. I scheduled my appointment with Comcast a week in advance. They had plenty of time to cancel or move my appointment.

Good luck with DTV anyway. When you called in did they even show that the trouble call you scheduled was sent to a tech that day? By the way the sleepy guy was in Washington and has been fired for it. If it was sent out that day I cannot see why they didn't contact you or leave a tag on your front door. Sounds like to me that the order did not get sent out to a tech on that day, but I guess that a tech could of had it and did not show although that would be very hard to get away with and he would get fired over not showing at a job that was put in his work list for the day. Thanks
