Consumerinfo.com, CIC Credit Monitoring Ripped Off by scamming credit report fraud Freecreditreport.com Ripoff California
My husband and I got free credit reports and I cancelled mine within the 30 day trial period. He on the other hand kept his for like 2 or 3 months and then cancelled it.
All of a sudden 6 months later my mother in law tries to get the money out of this account we have set up for her for her yearly mamogram b/c she is a breast cancer patient cannot get the money out becasue the account is overdrawn.
So we looked into it to find that we had been charged for 79.95 by CIC Credit Monitoring so we called and spoke to a man who would not give us his name and ended up hanging up on us. He blammed the charge being set up by a new car purchase we made a few days prior and that the dealership was responsible for signing us up for this thing.
We called up the dealership and they had no clue what we were talking about so we called back and spoke to another guy and we got his first name and ID number. I told him what had happened and that we needed the money immediately b/c they accessed our account without our knowledge or concent. He had multiple stories to tell us.
First he said that my husband never cancelled his membership and this was an anually charge . But we did cancel it and our last time we paid was Sept 2nd of 2005. But then he tried telling us that my husband had 2 different accounts and the monthly one was cancelled but the yearly one was not. This was not true. He said that we should have a refund in 7-10 days so we should see what happens.
If nothing does then there is something wrong. I better not be charged an overdraft fee for going negative in my account for this either. We are very upset over this ordeal.
