grant, the beauty of your whole statement is you basically validate what the other people have been saying on here. now seeing so i worked for the company i am aware of how they operate. and thus i will now point out how YOU failed in your duties/attempt to mislead the people on this site. 1) night dispatch KNEW the trailer was dropped and so did the conway yard it was dropped at. had they not know it was dropped there they would have never SENT a driver to pick it up. and how they knew it was there was due to the backnotes on the drivers screen in reference to the phone call he made about dropping it. and it wasnt a problem for anyone at all till the driver confronted about the lock. ya'll knew he was home. if you were trying to follow policy so well ya would have nailed him on it right away. 2) really you couldnt follow policy cause ops told him he could do it. now if it had been at a truckstop or something then sure. but it was a conway yard, ops knew it was getting dropped there, AND the conway yard knew it was gonna be dropped there. ops took it upon themselves to make a call that safety should have made. that falls on ops. but i bet you didnt write the person up who told him ok drop it there did ya? lolol 3) actually you could argue that he didnt have safety's permission BUT the driver can argue that it doesnt matter cause its a secure conway yard and the conway guy there said it was ok as well as ops. if you wanna argue that point though then you were derelict in your duties by not firing the driver right away. you could have called him and told him to clean out his truck and turn it in. 4) ALL the drivers know about epmty trailers is that if there isnt a lock or a seal on them they could possibly be empty so they would have to open the door and look. there only other option would be to call ops and ask about specific trailer numbers. ops seen it was empty from the load notes and the backnotes from the drivers screen and since it was at a yard figured they would just have the lock cut and let the driver foot the bill. when the driver called ya out on it thats when you got mad at the driver and went to the underhanded stuff. 5) ops is FAMOUS for being rude and lying to drivers. MOST of the drivers KNOW it, so i dont know who you are tryin to kid. and i have heard so much nonsense come out of the people in ops you should focus more on drug testing the people in ops instead of the drivers. the term delusional is a understatement when it comes to ops. 6) i could go on and on about the stuff ops does to ya. you can drive for 11 hours, and then at that 11 hours they will "suggest" you drive well over that for no pay for something they could have avoided in the first place. but for whatever reason they decided not to tell you. and if you dont bend over for em to cover their mistake they will punish you for it. 7) the real reason you even posted on here is because you caught wind of this sight and its becoming more and more apparent that more and more people are seeing truckload for what they really are. so you have this delusional thought in your head you are gonna do some damage control. it aint workin for ya homey! 8) being that i am a former driver and drove for many miles with truckload i KNOW FOR A FACT that most of what other people have wrote on here is true. i have seen it with my own eyes. the best part of it is i could get in one of your trucks and drive tomorrow if i wanted. but that will never happen cause i quit once i got fed up with the lies and the games that ops plays with their drivers. now because i am an HONEST person i do not fit within the core structure of truckload. however when i tell others about my experiences with truckload, because i am honest i tell em both the good and the bad. 9) all you drivers who come on here acting like truckload is golden....you're just brown nosing. and you make yourself look silly defending someone who is gonna break it off in you sooner or later. but cheerlead away for em if it makes ya feel better. just understand your peers laugh at you cause they know better. 10) now considering i have a perfect record with truckload, no accidents, service failures or and displinary problems why would i quit if they were oh so honest and nice, and i made all this money they claim you will make? my first 9 bullet points map that all out for ya! lololololol and as the bigman sez........and until next time, keep on lyin safely

Grant as of jan 01 2008 we were officially now Conway Truckload,Herb in his voicemails said that we would have new employee hand books "shortly" .Here it is 2009 and we still have CFI employee handbooks? I raise this question for a few reasons,1.They have gone out of their way to relabel EVERYTHING here with "CONWAY" but yet we still dont have a new employee handbook, hell mine is now 8 years old,no amendments to it stating that this is now a conway company.2.I have been told numerous times by Fleet Mgrs's,Team Mgr's,Scott Black,Donovan Edwards,etc... that it is Conway policy, and yet i dont have these new policies? What are we to say when this is said over the phone?,3.In this story i see that his conversations were recorded(i understand I hear it eveytime i call in)my ? is this, when do you know they are taping? when can a driver request a conversation be available to review? I find it quite very "BIG BROTHER" that it only works when A driver is called on the carpet and the Operations personel for the most part are immune to this for disciplinary actions,as always there is 2 sides to every story and it seems Operations like to set a driver up to explode over the phone,,i find these actions quite sophmorish and unprofessional.4.In this instance or occurance I wonder if anything was noted on the drivres screen? as if he had preapproval and i think if the communication was better here i probably bet this wouldnt happen,In my experiances here when I asked a Fleet Mgr to note something on my screen, almost with out excepetion they said they did and no one else can find it ,,leaves you to wonder, keep up the good work ,oh one other thing i find it interesting that your rebuttal was considered "Official"

Come on Larry, at least take a moment and proof read what you type. Contract Frieghters? I think you meant Contract Freighters. Try spell check sometime, might wish to check your grammar also. Also Ryan is not a 22 year old snot nosed punk, he is at least 25. And honestly, a Terminal Manager in OKC? Con-way Truckload does not have a terminal in OKC, that is Con-way Freight, and although the same parent company, they do not have the authority to let you drop a piece of Truckloads equipment. Larry you should really check your facts. Regards Mustang Not only am I Ryans #1 fan, I am also President of his fan club

funny to me the young mr lavelle told me i had acted within company policy by asking first before i dropped my trailer on company property as per weekend dispatch and conway terminal manager approval. this is what happens when you send a pair of boys to do a man's job. many others whom were with this outfit have had the same sort of experience with both ryan and grant. they say one thing and then do another. typical actions of children playing in an adult world. and if i was so wrong why did grant credit me with a lock ryan authorized cut from a trailer assigned to me vice sending a lazy driver to a different lot for an unassigned trailer. as for a security manager goes; lavelle i can without difficulty penetrate any yard you may think you have security set up on. you truly don't have a clue. and you can inform cupp he'll be needing to appear in an oklahoma court on a civil suit. now to give everyone an idea of how intelligent lavelle is; he tried to serve an idaho vpo on an oklahoma resident using some deputy from joplin mo to do so. i asked the district attorney of my county and he said lavelle and duputy must be truly idiotic to think that was valid much less legal. which brings me to a company policy lavelle violated against me. cfi has a policy that noone shall or will give out any employee information as to said employee's location. my son called lavelle and asked where i was. lavelle gave him the state, highway, and precise mile marker with my direction of travel. this shocked me due to lavelle being so rude to my wife when she called him requesting the same info and he refused and got belligerent with her. lavelle has a court suit pending the subpeona of certain recorded conversations. oklahoma or bust boys. i was there when these civil crimes were commited against me. The individual cited in this posting, who goes by the screen name Av8rdawg of Moore, Oklahoma, makes statements that are untruthful and inaccurately portray the situation in question. This message is to serve as the official rebuttal of Con-way Truckload to the inaccuracies published on this website with respect to the event as described. My name is Grant LaVelle and I am the Security Manager for Con-way Truckload, Inc. (formerly Contract Freighters, Inc. or CFI). I was responsible for investigating this situation as well as the carrying out of this person's discharge. Below are the facts. Fleet Manager Ryan Cupp was accurate in confronting this individual about the numerous company policies that were violated pertaining to unauthorized parking of company equipment. Those policies are clearly stated and are found in our company's employee handbook. This person stated in writing that he had received and read the handbook as a condition of employment. The policies are very clear. The referenced policies relating to parking that this individual violated are found in the following sections of our employee handbook: Section 73 subsection B points c1 and 2 - Authorized parking from the Safety Department required for home time parking. Section 76 subsection B point 23 Unauthorized parking of company equipment is grounds for automatic discharge. Section 77 subsection B points 2 and 3 Authorized parking from Safety is required and tractor and trailer must remain attached unless preapproved. Section 79 subsection A points 1-7 Requirements/process for obtaining authorized parking through the Safety Department. Section 79 subsection C points 3, 6, and 7 Use of unapproved yards and disconnecting of units without approval of Safety is prohibited. The individual also violated specific policies relating to improper treatment of co-workers and/or persons in management. These policies are found in the below sections of our employee handbook. Section 9 points 1-4, 13, 14, 20, 23, 28, and 30 Improper and disrespectful treatment of fellow employee, insubordination, violating the law, starting a disturbance through intimidation, acting in conflict with the interests of the company, use of profanity towards others, making false statements, and the making of threatening statements. Violation of these policies will subject the individual to dismissal. Mr. Cupp discharged his responsibilities properly and acted within the scope of the company's policies as they pertained to the event with this individual. Our follow up investigation of the event and its circumstances confirmed that the outcome was fully supported by the facts. Sincerely, Grant LaVelle Security Manager Corporate Protective Services Con-way Truckload, Inc.
