My son is stationed at Mayport Naval Air Station in Jacksonville. His transmission went out, so we took his car to Cottman when we were there for a visit. The car was kept for two weeks for repair. Cottman accepted payment from son and from us, across country. Within a very short time, the speedometer quit working. Son works 12 hour days & work hours difficult to coincide with Cottman's schedule.

He took the car in & requested someone look at it to see how long it would take to fix. No one will even LOOK at the car unless he leaves it with them for an undisclosed amount of time. He has taken it in twice when he's been able to, and both times they've told him he must leave it.

He's unable to leave the car because he's part of Homeland Security & must be able to report to base upon a moment's notice if called. Knowing this, they STILL will not look at the car unless he leaves it, and will not provide him with alternative transportation while they keep the car. Now they're telling him they may not stand by the warranty if he's been knowingly driving the car with something wrong with it.

I called the shop & ATTEMPTED to speak with the owner, Ron, however Ron wouldn't let me so much as complete a sentence without cutting me off. He treated me rudely & said my son should rent a car while they look at his car. How long can it take to look at a speedometer cable & tell him how long it would be to fix it?? THEN he could possibly make some transportation arrangements if he had an idea of how long it would be out of commission. But, don't bother to contact Customer Service for Cottman's corporate offices, because they're as inept and uncaring there as they are in Florida. They don't even bother to return phone calls, and the receptionist is as friendly and customer responsive as my ex-husband.

Your speedo can be affected due to the tranz~~~~could be other things also~~~(including installation) a dealer should be involved to document the cause~~~don't have it repaired only document the cause~~~~send them a certified letter with a copy and cost if its on their end and give them oportunity to make "ALL" repairs good an do just take their word for it ~~~say your going to have it checked out "AFTER" ~~~so they will be more focused on a "no" comeback repair~~~THE TRANZMN
