CP Investors LLC Claimed I defaulted on a loan, offer to settle now for a discount Fort Myers Florida
Lady caller with Jamacian? accent alledging to be from a law firm (no name given) called my cell at 8:30 am 12/31/2015. The ANI display showed her number as 239-424-9408, which is a Fort Myers Florida exchange. She said her firm was representing CP Investors LLC and she was calling to collect a loan deposited to my Bank of America account, which I had not repaid. She mentioned the total loan amount but I didn't catch it ....thousand, and that the lender, CP Investors LLC, would settle for $560 if I would pay NOW. She verified my full name, and had the last 4 digits of my social security number. She mentioned that I had accounts with Bank of America (closed in 2009) and Capital One (credit card recently opened).
I told the caller I had never done business or borrowed money from any firm named CP Investors LLC, and that this was some kind of a scam. The caller said that the loan was genuine, and the lender would file suit against me if it was not paid. I asked for information on CP Investors LLC: the name of their Principle member, their business address, their home office phone number - all of which she refused to give, saying she did not have authority to give information, only collect the debt. She said I should expect a lawsuit to be filed against me and hung up.
This entire call was similar to a call to my cell I received in May of 2015, but I kept no records and dismissed it as a scam. The male caller at that time referenced my Sun Trust Bank and Bank of America accounts (which had been closed for years), and also had my entire social security number. He asked for $640 to settle a loan of $2,000. He said I had borrowed the money on line and it was deposited to my SunTrust Bank account.
If anyone knows how to stop the fraudulent lender, CP Investors LLC, please let me know.

The same scenario happened to me. Really scared me that they would have all my information if this is a scam. It was hard to respond because of the shock I was in. I did a payday loan one time and paid them their money. The caller claimed that the bank account was closed and the company couldnt get paid. I told them I have had the same bank account for 15 years and have never overdrawn on the account. I was sent an email with the details of the account and lender. Upon researching the lender it smells of fraud because the companys phone number is just a a voice trying to get me to buy something. I will call my bank to alert them to any suspicious activity. I want to thank you for posting what happened to you because it lets me know that im not going crazy.

Same outfit only this time they are calling from 844-202-1613 (ANI). They leave a voice mail multiple times, sayiing they are handling a claim in their office, reference claim number 3469979 and give a call back number of 844-226-8637. I called back once and the answerer transferred me to a "representative who handles Florida". then the same scam - pay now for reduced settlement, or they will file a lawsuit against me.
