Credit One Bank, Credit one Bank turned over a debt to a credit reporting and collection company called Midland Credit Management. City of Industry CA California
Credit One Bank issued a credit card to an invividual living in Oakland Park Florida. Not sure if this Vince Anderson used my social Security number to get this credit card. (I am assuming not) This individual charged the card to it's limit within a 15 day period and has never made a payment.
When I tried to explain this to Midland Credit Management they said "dispite the information you have provided us, we feel you are still responsible for this debt"
My belief is that Credit One Bank issued this credit card to someone who may have my name but no other information matches up.
I have never lived in Oakland Park Florida nor have I ever applied for a credit card through Credit One Bank.
Now I am not sure if I should be filing this complaint for the Credit One Bank or for Midland Credit Management I believe the bank should be held responsible for the carelessness exhibited in providing my information to the credit reporting institutions as well as to Midland Credit Management

You sound like a victim of identity theft. There are a number of things you are going to have to do:
1. You need to file with all 3 credit reporting agencies and indicate you are a victim of ID theft. You are going to need to place holds with each agency to make sure no one else can open credit in your name.
2. You need to file a police report indicating your ID has been stolen - obtain a police report on the matter.
3. You will need to report with the FTC and even Social Security indicating your ID was stolen. It's important to know they could not have opened the CC in your name without knowing your Social Security Number.
4. You will need to contact the DMV who oversees all ID in the state of California and tell them your ID has been stolen.
5. Call someone NOW and ask them for help in cleaning this situation up.
The bank's involved cannot be blamed. Someone pretended to be you, had all of your ID, and proceeded to charge your credit to the max. That isn't carelessness or a mistake by anyone. That was a thief intending to rob you; nobody gets a credit card in your name and maxes the card out in 15 days or less and by some chance it was a mistake? There is no mistake. The only one who would do that is a thief.
You NEED to contact someone who can help you figure out how to clean up all of this as soon as possible. Not tomorrow. Not this afternoon. NOW. Otherwise this is going to happen again. You will also need to contact the bank and let them know you've been a victim of ID theft.
