I enrolled with Credit Solutions around November of 2006. The representative told me that they would basically take care of everything and that it was pretty much a guarantee that my debt would be reduced by 50 to 60%. I repeatedly asked them if my credit card accounts would end up in collections and he repeatedly assured me that would not happen.
About 2 or 3 months after I signed up, I started to get collections calls and letters. So I called Credit Solutions to let them know and asked why I was getting these collection bills and they told me that that was part of the process. This is completely opposite of what the original rep had told me. But at this point I was in too deep and just decided I'd give them the benefit of the doubt.
I started to get worried when I received my first letter from a lawfirm threatening to sue me if I didn't pay the debt on one of my credit cards. I had some money to pay it off, so I contacted Credit Solutions "Settlement Line". First, I was on hold for a very long period of time, then someone finally picked up. Then they called the lawfirm and basically got nowhere with them. To make a long story short. My debt to for that particular creditor was about $1800, I ended up settling that debt with the lawfirm for a little over $2000. So not only did the amount not get reduced, it got increased along with the fact that this is on my credit report now.
On another account, I ended up settling for the original amount I owed to the creditor, but also now have that collections agency on my credit report as well.
On the last account I needed to settle, which was also the largest amount of money I owed, I contacted Credit Solutions, with no call back and no email reply. I finally borrowed the money from a family member and called the collections agency myself to try and work something out. I, on my own without any assistance from Credit Solutions, settled the account for 25% less than the original amount that was owed.
Also on the two accounts that were settled and paid, I have been trying to get them to get me something from the creditors stating that the account has been paid and closed, to date I have received nothing. I am at the point now that I will have to call those collections agencies/law firms to get these letters.
Credit Solutions is a joke! They are in it to make money off of people who are already struggling to begin with. At some points, I felt like crying and this has caused me tremendous stress because I ended up being in more debt than I started with, on top of the fee they've been taking out of my account every month and my credit has been ruined with no real good reason.

I don't know if this will do anything but I think it would be a good idea if everyone took the time to write and email to Dateline NBC and 20/20 to look into this company and let them know your horrible experience. Their email addresses are: [email protected] [email protected] Maybe if they get a lot of emails with complaints about this company they will do what they do best and try to expose this company for what they really are.
