As for the company, by law, they are to check to see if the person who brought in a Verizon, Sprint, or T-mobile phone to use Cricket's service is the legal owner of the phone. A friend of mine checked with a Cricket store in Denver, Co and she was told that it was up to the store to see if that individual is the legal owner of the phone, the store did not do this. Beverly if you look closely enough you will realize that you are completely wrong about your claim against Cricket. You say quote: it was up to the store to see if that individual is the legal owner of the phone It says right there in your words that it is up to the store to do so. Now on the claim that they are suppose to check on the legal owner of a phone that is a load of BS. You do realize Cell Phones just like everything else you can buy in a store does not have to be registered or even activated. I personally know several people who have bought Cell phones that Cricket does not sale from Places like At&t and Alltell just so they could take it to cricket and have cheap service but good phones. And guess what there is no way to check the legal owner of those phones because they were never activated or registered with the company they were bought from. I hate Cricket too but in this case it is not their fault. It is yours for letting one of Americas most wanted get away without turning them in in the first place. You by association are technically a Criminal for not turning them in and should be ashamed of yourself.

Jrod, all one has to do is take any phone, whether it is a verizon, sprint, t-moble, whatever and the staff at Cricket can "flash" your phone where you can use your verizon, sprint, t-moble phone using a Cricket service. So, excuse me, there is a way to go around this issue. This person's phone was shut off and she contacted customer service and they told her to go to a Corporate Cricket store and discuss the issue. The phone was confiscated and she was told to purchase a new phone and a new number. Now, as I have said, as per federal law, it was Cricket's duty to verify the owner of a Verizon phone and they did not. Now it is in the hands of the law enforcement and that individual will be facing "heck" wherever she goes. Now it is on with Crooked.

You must not be that smart. Your issue is with the person, you claim you know, whom stole you phone. There are no SIM cards with verizon, Sprint, atell, and cricket. You need to go after the person that the person that stole your phone and stop wasting time and engery persuing a pointless case against a company.... You should have some type of insurance on the phone or something....
