MY BOYFRIEND GOTME A CRICKET CELL PHONE FOR X-MAS. IS COST $110 WHICH IS PRETTY EXPENSIVE BECAUSE NOWADAYS MOST CELL PHONE COMPANYS OFFER THE PHONES FOR FREE. I GOT CRICKET BECAUSE IT IS $34.99 PER MONTH FOR UNLIMITED SERVICE, AND I FIQURED IMIGHT AS WELL CANCEL MY HOME PHONE.FIRST MONTH IS FREE AND I CAN RETURN THE PHONE AS LONG AS I DO NOT GO OVER 150 MINUTES. WELL THIS SERVICE WAS AWFUL. I MADE ABOUT 4 CALLS THAT LASTED LESS THAN 2 MINUTES BECAUSE EACH TIME THE CALL GOT DROPPED. EVEN WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE I COULD BARLEY HEAR THE OTHER PERSON.I SET THE PHONE ASIDE AND FIQURED I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM RETURNING IT SEEING AS I HAD USED IT FOR ABOUT 10 MINTUES TOTAL. WHEN I WENT TO RETURN IT THEY INFORMNED ME I COULD NOT GET A REFUND BECAUSE I HAD GONE OVER THE 150 MINUTES. THEY CLAIMED I HAD USED THE PHONE FOR OVER 170. NO FREAKING WAY! I EXPLAINED TO THEM THE REASON I WAS RETURNING THE PHONE WAS BECAUSE THE SERVICE WAS SO HORRIBLE AND ALL 4 OF MY CALLS GOT DROPPED, ETC, ETC...THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NO WAY THE PHONE WOULD SAY IT HAD 170 MINTUTES USED ON IT IF THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. I REPEATED TO THEM IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE AND I DID NOT MAKE CALLS..ALSO I THOUGH EVEN IF I HAD, IF THE SERVICE IS SO HORRIBLE YOU CANT MAKE IT THRU ONE PHONE CALL, SHOULDNT YOU BE ALLOWED TO RETURN IT ANYWAY??? WELL THE CRICKET REP DIDNT SEEM TO CARE.I ASKED FOR A PHONE NUMBER TO TALK TO SOMEONE WITH MORE AUTHORITY SO IT ENDED UP THAT THE NUMBER WAS SIMPLY THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER TO CALL IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION OR WANT TO CHANGE ANYTHING TO THE SERVICE. THEY ENDED UP GIVING ME NUMBERS TO CRICKET STORES SAYING THATS WHO I NEEDED TO SPEAK WITH. WHEN I CALLED THEM I WAS INFORMED THAT I COULDNT TAKE IT TO ANY STORE, IT HAD TO BE THE PLACE I GOT IT...AND I WAS TOLD SEVERAL TIMES THAT I WAS WRONG AND OUT OF LUCK. NO ONE AT CRICKET KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING, AND I THINK ITS PRETTY CRAPPY TO OFFER A SERVICE THAT DOESNT WORK AND THEN NOT LET THE CONSUMER RETURN IT!!!

as an employee of AT&T, i can say that customer service reflects badly on the company. Although cricket is now nationwide, they need to rethink their hiring process and get people in there that can speak ENGLISH. Everytime I call. i get someone who sounds like I called over to Iraq.I can barely understand them and if I can't understand them, can they understand me. For the most part, cricket's prices are great Don't be late on a payment or theres 15$'s. Dont change your phone number..theres 15$'s. Watch those extra fees. They do add up

"MY BOYFRIEND GOTME A CRICKET CELL PHONE FOR X-MAS. IS COST $110 WHICH IS PRETTY EXPENSIVE BECAUSE NOWADAYS MOST CELL PHONE COMPANYS OFFER THE PHONES FOR FREE. I GOT CRICKET BECAUSE IT IS $34.99 PER MONTH FOR UNLIMITED SERVICE, AND I FIQURED IMIGHT AS WELL CANCEL MY HOME PHONE.FIRST MONTH IS FREE AND I CAN RETURN THE PHONE AS LONG AS I DO NOT GO OVER 150 MINUTES." My Response: First of all, $110 for a cell phone is CHEAP. Second of all, the reason why other cell phone companies sell the phones for "free" is because they make you sign a contract which guarantees that you will pay for your bill for a whole year (or 2 years on some contracts), whether you like the service or not, in order to get the phonoe for "free". Third, you made the fatal mistake of thinking that your first month of service is free. I'm sure that other cell phone companies definitely CHARGE you for your first month of service. Unless your papers stated that your service was FREE for the first month, then I wouldn't just assume it. As for the service on to your phone, a LOT of different things can make a call drop, and those same things are experienced with ANY wireless carrier. I could see if your phone NEVER allowed you to make not even 1 call. Also, if you only made 4 calls, you would've returned it the very NEXT day because hardly anyone with a cell phone makes just 4 calls in the first month, especially with UNLIMITED minutes within your calling area.

the phones do have a 12 month manufacturer warranty

#5UPDATE Employee

If the phone you purchased was new, the phones do have a 12 month manufacturer warranty. As long as the phone doesnt have physical/water damage then you could replace it under the warranty. If you havent done it, I would suggest taking the phone into a Full service Cricket store.

I recently purchased the Kyocera Rave from Cricket. The phone holds a charge for a whopping 30 minutes of talk time. When I contacted customer service to replace the phone (I purchased the insurance), I was told that I was using too many features--backlighting, loud ringer volume, etc. I was instructed to turn the options to the minimums to correct the problem. Not only did it not correct the problem--who wants a $130 phone that they can't use the features on??? They still won't replace the phone... I wish I hadn't wasted my money. I switched to Cricket from AT&T GoPhone. I miss it. Switching back this month.

I lived in Knoxville,Tn for 3 years and I got me a Cricket cell phone and I loved my service. I never had any problems with my phone. If you were out of your coverage area then yes it will not work, that is like that with any cell phone company. Everybody that called me they could always hear me plain as day and I could hear them plain as day too. I loved their service and the reps. that I talk to and got my phone from were very nice and I wish they had Cricket in my area now because I would go back to them. If I ever move to where Cricket is or if they get the service here i will defintley have Cricket for my cell phone service.

I got my first crcket phone about 3 months ago. I haven't had any problems. My customer service rep. has been more than helpful to me. True they do have a lot of extra fees, but for local and long distance calling, you can't beat it with a stick. Just because some areas of service is not as good as others, don't knock someone else by telling them not to get the service. They may end up being a satisfied customer just like me! All services have their down falls, not just Cricket!

How Do You Get A Cricket Customer Back?

#9Consumer Comment

Tue, September 28, 2004

I used to be a Cricket customer. I quit the service for one reason and one reason only! CUSTOMER SERVICE, or should I say the lack of it. I have read all of the complaints and I have read all of the responses from the Cricket representatives. Some are well thought out statements about the service. some have well worded suggestions for improved relations. One of these Cricket reps even made me laugh, that was Jerry - Tulsa, Oklahoma U.S.A. His uneducated written response is reflective of my past experiences with this company. The bottom line? NO COMPANY, for any reason, has a valid excuse for the soiled customer service that Cricket Communications is so well known for. Cricket's poor customer service has been reported from every city and every state that this company conducts business in. Even if the company experiences no immediate loss of revenue due to poor customer service, it will eventually catch up to them. History has a way of repeating its self! Earning a new customer is easy compared to earning back the one you let get away!

Pre Pay? Almost all of Cricket accounts are post pay accounts

#10UPDATE Employee

Fri, September 24, 2004

Almost all of Cricket accounts are post pay accounts, which means you pay for service AFTER you use it. Some are Pay In Advance, but every account that has been activated or reactivated from 2002 to present are all post pay. And if you are on pay in advance from 2001 or earlier and have disconnected your service, you are changed to a post pay account.

At least with Cricket your bill is what they say it will be - no hidden fees or surcharges like most others. My $39.99 plan costs me just over $43 each month! Much better than the bill I once got from T-Mobile for $1,100 for a month - talk about a rip-off.

Cricket lives, Customer Service is pretty bad, but

#12Consumer Comment

Mon, September 20, 2004

I had Cricket for over 2 years and I agree, Customer Service is pretty bad, but I have yet to see any cell company with good CS. I made the mistake of leaving Cricket for Sprint, becuase I was going to be driving some outside the limited area. Biggest mistake of my life. After 4 months, I can hardly wait to get back to Cricket. When my sprint roams, I can't connect at all to any calls -- incoming or outgoing, although it does ring. Then, I don't get any messages until i get back inside the coverage area. What's different than Cricket? Oh ya, Sprint has over charged me each and every month because they add my night and weekend minutes to the total and I go over the limit. So far, I have spent over 20 hours in 4 months to get over $900 in calls reversed because their computer couldn't count. Can't wait until November when I don't have to pay back the commission and only have the Sprint penalty to pay. I'll switch in a heartbeat!!!

You are the only email I found...I sent a letter to the CEO/President of Leap...Please forward this on to whomever should receive it. Thank you. I have written you once already, over a month ago, and have not heard back from anyone. Summary: I was a customer. On March 14th went in to the store or there abouts, and purchased a phone and accessories for my granddaughter for her birthday and added her to my bill. INcluded in the over $220 dollarsI spent, was the retro till the next month. April bill came to me the next week, so I went into the store to pay it. They told me they could not take my money. They wrote on a scrap piece of paper the address to mail it to, I believe in Texas. I then mailed it. Since Cricket is a PRE pay service...if you Dont pay you dont get service, on the 5th I believe or 7th, my phone was shut off along with my granddaughters which was humiliating and embarrassing.. I went into the store and showed them my reciept from my money order, as my husband refuses to pay for this, I do it by money order instead of our checking account..(he doesnt believe in cell phones, he thinks they are a waste of money). The kid in the store called the payment center and found that I indeed did pay and it was a mistake, so they turned my phones back on, and told me I would get a rebate of $5.00 on my next months bill, for my trouble. The bill for May came on April 12th, so to NOT have any more embarrassing problems, I got my money order that day, and mailed it that same day... Going on with life as usuall thinking all is well, going into May, AGAIN on the 5th or 7th BAMMMM Cricket AGAIN shut my phone off and the granddaughters as well.... I go once again to the store, and produce my reciept for paying this bill early on the 12th of April and mailing it early. I am really angry at this point for AGAIN being shut off... The manager, not the kid, looked on his screen and says" This receipt is for April dated April 12th. I said NO..Then proceeded to tell him how I was shut off and then turned back on on the 5th or 7th....WHY THEN would they SEE I did in FACT PAY, for APRIL, and turn me back on??????? This receipt is for MAY, dated April12th!!! If it was in fact for APRIL, they wouldnt have turned me back on 6 days prior to the 12th!!!! in which your office would not have even received until possibly the 20th of April anyway!!!! LOGIC....simple logic..... He insisted it was for April and would not restore my service or my granddaughters. We happen to have just sold our home and were and still are in transition, waiting for the completion and closing of our newly built home, and I could not find any other paperwork. I WAS LIVID!!!! Your manager was soo rude, and I was so embarrassed in front of all the people in there I screamed that you were a bunch of cheaters. Which brings me to a question, how come YOU are the ONLY cellular company in all of Phoenix who feels the need to have a security guy/wannabe cop, in your establishment?? Could it just be that you SCREW and CHEAT so many people they get THAT angry???? Imagine , me a grandmother THAT angry???? Thats what your cheating does to people.... and you sit back in your easy chair making millions cheating people???? How can you sleep at night for Gods sake? Logic, if I hadnt paid for April, I wouldnt have had service til May 5th would I ? You ARE pre pay and if I didnt pay my April bill, I wouldnt have had service!!!!!! Since then, I have found a letter from your company dated before the 12th of April, however in the month of April, because of the first MISTAKE on YOUR part, telling me that my account is in good standing and paid up. Which means, then, the receipt that I have for after that letter, WAS indeed for my next months payment, as I said. MY grandaughter and I have been without phones since this happened and she keeps asking me when he phone will work, the poor child paid $100 of her own money to help buy it....NOT ONLY THAT.. We were due a $130 rebate for our phones, and your company sent me a letter saying since I DEFAULTED ON THE SERVICE, I will NOT be receiving my REBATE !!!!!!! I didn't default, YOU defaulted!!! YOU need to make this right....You need to reconnect this service immediately, give us our rebate, and also I'd say at the LEAST, a free month for what you have done, and the embarrassment and stress you have caused me. If I do NOT hear from you this time, I will then take my receipts, a copy of both letters I have written to you, the letter from your company and go to the news with this. Cricket is a great service for scum who don't pay their bills, who are your main clientel, I do believe, but there are many nice, respectable people who use a service such as yours for the same reason I do, that I only need local and want all the time I can get! I am fed up with your cheating me, and oh my God, how many others..then ignoring me like I am nothing, nobody, or someone you can just cheat and get away with it....I assure you, you have no idea how relentless I am, who I am, or who I work for. You need to make this right for you are wrong here, very wrong. SINCERELY, Phoenix, Arizona

I've been with Cricket since 2001, not that I have bad credit,or no credit.I decided to go with Cricket for a 2nd cell line for my children, whom love to call their mom all the time. The probably with Cricket is there Customer Service Dept. you can never talk to a live rep. When I call into a cellular company I want to be able to talk to a person, not a automatic system that can't solve your situation. Lets talk about paying bills on time, how many people have gone to make the phone call to make your payment, you go through the motions to just be told by a auto voice they didn't get your information call back later? You go online to pay, look at your invoice pay the amount showing, then the next month being charged double. You've already given up calling, for you can't get a real person on the other end. Starting on 8-18-04 After several days of not being able to contact a live rep., this prior to your due date GUESS WHAT YOUR PHONE IS SHUT OFF, by the way it's not Crickets fault, it's yours since you didn't pay on your due date.Don't even waiste your time sendng a e-mail, it takes at least 72 hours to get a response back, e-mail sent out on 8-21-04. Response on 8-23-04 "Thank you for contacting Cricket's Customer Relations department. We have received your email and the next available Customer Relations staff member will respond to your inquiry within the next 72 'business' hours." Just to be told by a peon via e-mail that it's your fault.I will not show my response. How about calling to CRICKET Store at 21st or 71st store in Tulsa,on 8-23-04 to only get a message to leave your name,ETC. they'll get back to you within the next two days, gee it has been 12 days still waiting. This is the best one yet, being told via auto voice/or online that they can't except your payment, to contact a checking return service. Which freaks your customers out, especially when you the customer finds out CRICKET has given them incorrect information, such as SS numbers, you the customer with after going through the ringer to talk to a live rep.they have nothing on you. GUESS WHAT CRICKET DID IT, WILL NOT CORRECT IT, EVEN THOUGH THEY INPUT IT. I lost $1500.00 spending a 11/2 days trying to resolve errors that CRICKET has done, to just receive an e-mail. Response on 8-23-04 I apologize for the inconveniences that you have experienced.Upon reviewing your account, I have found that a customer relations representative was able to assist you with explaining your bill. If this is not correct, please reply to this email. If you have any further questions, please visit our website www.mycricket.com. Thank you, Wendy Norlund Cricket Customer Relations Dept. Corporate Office 10307 Pacific Center Court San Diego, CA 92121 Guess what it wasn't resolved. Then today 9-3-04, just out of the blue my GREAT Cricket phone just stopped, will not power up, kids can't get ahold of mom, clients can't contact either. You look in the yellowpages after calling the 21st and 71st store "Yes getting the famous voice machine". Contact several stores with the Cricket logo, to find out the famous $15.00 fee to clean, to see if that will make your CRICKET phone work, if not the phone #'s that are programed into the phone can't be retrieved except for a $15.00 fee to hopefully power it up long enough to get the data. Then to have this actual rep. try to sell you a different phone with a different company, reason being Customer Service is terrible. No s-h-i-t. To you reps in Tulsa find a real job, or start doing the jobs that you are being paid for instead of going on line to see all the complaints your customers are writing about your services.

Ha Ha - how funny. I does seem like the same person. Besides, who cares wheater there are a couple nice reps in Tulsa when the whole company stinks. It's no wonder they went bankrupt a year ago (I got my customer notice of that about a year ago). I too have worked for cruddy companies that SAY they are much greater that they are. The consumer knows the truth. But as long as your getting a paycheck J. That doesn't change their bad policies.

Doesn anyone else besides me think that J, Joe and Jerry are all in the same? All three are from Tulsa and their letters all pretty much sound the same. Sounds like Cricket is getting scared and trying to win customers with fake stories and they chose Jerry, or Joe or J to tell the story. Too bad he didn't at least pick different sounding names with different first initials.

Exactly, people assume that....But if people would call to check BEFORE they are suspended or refer to their Terms & Conditions they wouldnt assume stuff thats incorrect. None of our reps are going to say sure you have a grace period pay when you want to. Understandable when people cant pay their bill on time sometime, myself included has financial issues. But dont let your phone get shut off then blaim us because you didnt pay your bill. There is NO grace period. Your due date is the 20th,that means exactly that YOUR BILL IS DUE on or BEFORE the 20th by midnight, after that time it is considered late. So why get mad when your services are turned off when your 4 days past-due, its not our fault that you dont pay your bill or call in to make arrangements. Alot of people also try to get something for nothing or straight lie to get something free, a prime example was being last Wednesday I took a sup call(supervisor) call from a lady mad demanding her phone being turned on, I looked and seen she had an extension she didnt abide by and her phone was off so at this point the only think I could do is take a payment and get her on, she said she called a week ago to disconnect and talked to a guy who told her she didnt have to pay a bill, i went thru the notes and she spoke TO ME...She sit there and told me the guy she spoked to lied/misinformed her and I had 4 pages of notes verbatim what I told her. I then told her ma'am you spoke to me that evening and I indeed told you to pay $38 yadda yadda...She ended up getting mad and hangin up.. My whole point beyond that story is simply this, not all customers are trying to pull one over on us, and were not trying to do that either.

First off I apologize for anyone who has ran into alot of problems with Cricket, I have had Cricket service in the Tulsa area for 3 years now, never a problem or VERY rarely if so. I have been employed with Cricket for about a year now, and I take supervisor calls. As far as it being a scam/rip-off, which I've heard from quite a few customers it ISNT. Some of the reps may be new to the department you are trying to get assistance in which is why they may seem "slower" than what you consider to be normal. But like the other employee stated previously, It isnt for everyone, and the first lady who said 150 minutes of talk time, Im not sure why they would say that. they have what we call a 30/30 rule, meaning 30 days/30 minutes as long as its in those guidelines you can return it. The people who call in complaining about their bill flexuating is the same people who never pay their bill on time, so are receiving a $15 reinstatement fee here and there, or they underpay their bill. Dont want to get confused or have a different amount every month? Simple solution, pay your bill ON TIME in FULL. By that statement Im not talking down on any customers, its just common sense that most people dont seem to understand. I will bookmark this site and check-in every now and then and read questions/comments about Cricket. If anyone has any questions I'd be more than happy to answer as well. Thanks,

Although I have never owned a "cricket" phone myself, all my friends have and to this date, whenever I talk to them on their "crickets", calls are still being dropped. I can not comment on their customer service as I have never heard any experiences from my friends. I am however, sure of the dropped calls as I am on the other end when it happens.

You can sue them in small claims court. I am an amputee and when selecting a new phone to replace my Nokia I was remined a million times that I could test drive it for 30 days, the small print added "or 30 min." I do not have enough fingers ro properly operate the phone, they offered to kick me off of the cricket system. I am looking for people willing to write about a rip off so I can use them in court. Evidence about a business's misconduct can be used ahainst them [DELETED] put Cricket in the subject line.

Cricket is....a great service for people that want cheap bills

#36UPDATE EX-employee responds

I was a customer service rep for Cricket for one year. I on a daily basis dealt with customers who screamed, yelled and cussed me. The customer services reps are people just like you and most have sweet spirits and try to be very helpful. There of course are those that really don't care to be there and you find those people everywhere you go. Not everyone likes their job but if you ever feel as though someone is being rude to you, or even not helping you. all you have to ask for is a supervisor and one would come to the phone and speak with you. There are always terms and conditions with anything that you purchase. Cricket is no different. If you read the terms and conditions then you will never be surprised. It is true that if you talk on a phone for more then a set amt of time they cannot do a refund for the phone. However, if there is something wrong with your phone they should replace it. With little hassle. They would also give you a time without service credit if you were so inclined to ask. Now the time without service won't be a major thing if you are only without service for a day or two. Only if you have been having the problem and called so they have notes about it could you possibly get something more. To blame it on the representitive is really unfair. It isn't their policy that they are following it is the companies. The company has such strict policies because it has to. There is not a credit check and believe it or not there are people in this world that are always trying to get something for nothing because they found a way. Believe me it was on a daily basis I found fraud while talking to people. The reps are really just doing a job to bring home a check so they too can have food and shelter. If courtesy is given I believe it's easier to get what you want done or at least a reasonable explanation of why it's not possible. In closing, you can sell that phone to someone and they can try to connect it. All that entails now is first month payment and 25 dollar activation fee upfront. Which can be paid over the phone with a rep by cc or check. Also you can take the phone to a full service cricket store and make a payment there. I know lots of people that work at Cricket that have phones, I hear every once and a while about dropped calls, I also hear it happens in the same areas and thats due to the towers and sun and clouds and the phone, which is made by someone else not Cricket. Cricket is a great service for people that want cheap bills and lotssa talk time. Which you don't get with other companies.

Don't get me started on the dropping the phone calls. My cell shows full signal strength then poof call dropped it seems to happen after about 15 min of talk time. I have a question. Does anyone know where the heck I can send a complaint e-mail to. check cricket website and nothing... I have talked to four different serv reps about buying a used cell phone and activating it with cricket. I have got four different answers... DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE HECK THEY ARE DOING at this company?

No Problems with my phone, Customer Service needs HELP

#39Consumer Comment

Fri, June 06, 2003

My 14 year old daughter and I both have cricket phones. We have both never had any problems with the phones or the services provided to our phones.(were else can you get unlimited phone call and at 14 let me tell you, you need unlimited. I use mine more than my home phone, that is used for internet only). My phone has the extended coverage area and hers has the local only. We have both found that there are only two places in town that our phone won't work one is on the interstate at an exit that EVERY CELL company in lincoln has trouble with dropped call for a 1 mile streach of highway and inside the HOME DEPOT store. Other than that we have no problems at all. I do agree that the customer service reps need alittle help with attitudes and correct information. I am still waiting for my 2 movie tickets that was the promo when I signed up (but the movies is out on DVD now and it wasn't that good anyhow so I don't think I missed much)

I was looking to get a cell phone. Cricket souds good. Before I made the jump I tried to call customer service to find out more about the phone system. Just like the complaints above testified. I got the runaround. It is true there's no live person to answer a call, the front desk is managed by a stupid computer (Matrix) that is limited in its interaction with humans. if you like the frustration then go for it, I decided not to use Cricket for now until they can provide better customer service.

Just a simple comment to a few out there. First, Barb from Penn. I don't know how much CSR's make where you're from but $7/hr is more than enough for a person to live on. I know, because I worked for American Express for about a year and made $7/hr and I loved my job. Cricket CSR's have attitude problems and unfortunetly it reflects on the company. I'm on to Verizon Prepay now. They seem to be very good so far and I'm not knocking Cricket but honestly, they need to revamp their Customer Service.

I have been a customer of Cricket for about 6 months now, and before I decided on their service, I made sure I FULLY UNDERSTOOD their coverage areas. It is perfect where I live, and everywhere around me. It has been EXACTLY what they said it would be. And I knew UP FRONT before I bought my phone, that it WOULD NOT work out of my "area". I also have cell service through AT&T for when I am out of my calling area and emergencies on the road out of town...but I have since dropped VERIZON as my home phone and use my cricket....other than an occasional ECHO, which I get with my AT&T service as well, I LOVE CRICKET. I couldnt be happier with it. As for the customer service...I have not had anyone be rude with me, they have been very helpful, but the crap you have to go through to actually SPEAK with someone...ya its bad. Customer service needs HELP.!!!!!!!!!

We have had Cricket for 1 1/2 years. We never have a problem with our bill, service or speaking with a customer care representative. I guess we are one of the lucky ones. Our only dropped calls are when we drive past the new "military evacuation building" which has towers a mile high. We also have annother cell phone service which continues to drop calls repeatedly. I guess here in Oregon, we are lucky to have Cricket.

However like many others i have had at&t verizon and sprint and have had problems with all of them. people think of what we are talking on!! there is no where the phone is pluged in. in some areas there will be problems, for some more than others. but cricket does offer a great deal. their customer service is pretty bad, but hey how would you like to answer phones all day and probably only make 7 dollars an hour???? just remember they are a pretty new service and in the last two years they have improved alot!! they can only get better!!

Wow. I guess that Tucson is a pretty good Cricket area. I know that the store on Speedway is horrible but the one on Wetmore, which I go to most often, isn't packed all the time. I know that driving in Tucson is such a pain (we have some very horrible drivers in this city, we are worse than California by 80%) but maybe another location is better. I recently called the CSR for Cricket and yes, it sucks now. The guy I got was a moron and I don't know why it has gone downhill, but it wasn't that way only two months ago. How sad. I will still say that the phones are good and so is the service and yes the Customer Service could use some revamping.

I'd like to say that Cricket service has been really reliable, I have never had any problems with the service or the phones I have purchased from Cricket. One gets unlimited minutes on phone and unlimited text messaging with plenty of long distance minutes for a one low price. T he only thing I don't like about Cricket is the customer service they offer. When I decide to go to the store here in Tucson, AZ. on Speedway Blvd. the store is always so full of people the line goes around the inside of the store. The people who work there act like they have a stick up their a*s, they are so cold and even rude at times. They must remember that only because one has chosen to have service with them doesn't necessarily mean it's because they don't do credit checks, some of us are very happy with the fact that we can speak without having to worry about the minutes we speak for. I give Cricket service two thumbs up and their employees, well, I just give them the middle finger.

I currently have service with cricket and continue to have problem after problem. If you have had cricket service and don't have any problems then good for you......but it has not been that way for everyone. Besides, don't get mad...all we can do is warn others or at least let them know what to expect. Besides....they do have lousy service and they do not try to helpful to the customer. They think that they are doing a good service for the customer by not using credit checks, so what you pay for ahead of time, and that is no reason to not have good customer service. If you are satisfied with Cricket then post a comment on WeLuvCricket.org

I've been a customer of Cricket for over two years now and I'm very happy with them. I've the Nokia 5170i and I have great service. I've never had a problem with my phone or customer service, my bill or anything else. Cricket is not meant for everyone. If you want to complain about how you actually had to pay for your phone then you obviously haven't realized that if you add it all up, Cricket is cheaper than Sprint (I'm using this as an educated example). I was a customer with Sprint for a year and they ripped me off every chance they got with nothing but unclear and dropped calls. Cricket is for those who don't have credit or don't have good credit, not for those who can afford to pay $60 month for their minutes plus their text messages and everything else. This is a company for those who just need a cell phone. And besides, when you were a customer it was probably when all the kinks weren't worked out of their system: Something that happens to ALL cellular companies in the beginning...They're awesome now.

#52Consumer Comment

Thu, February 27, 2003

I purchased my cricket phone because I wouldn't have to worry about the bill surprising me...unlimited minutes sounded great. The phone it's self is a piece of junk, often times the phone just "shuts-off" completely when I tried to make a call. I found out that this was a common problem for the nokia models (a cricket rep at a mall kiosk told me this - not at a cricket service location)when I took it in to a service location, they wouldn't replace it, I had to by a new phone AND pay a reconnection fee. That is just the beginning. ~ What ever battery life is still on the phones battery when you plug it in for charging will be disposed of. You are suppose to wait for the battery to die before plugging it in. Make sure you plan your emergencies around the charge of your battery ~ LOL The kicker~~~~ My bill was due on the 1st of the month, but I get paid on the 4th so a customer rep told me to get the due date extended (which would give me 5 more days). I was instructed to do this a few times and then they would change my due date perminately. So I did as I was told, but when the request for bill date change was looked over it was refused because those extentions I was told to get were actually considered to be "late payments". Not to mention if you do accidently miss the due date and pay the next day, first of all your service is already shut off and when you call ~ 1-800- cricket, the automated system sends you into a loop and will NOT allow you to speak to a representative. This happened to me because I didn't pay a bill that was higher that it should be and I needed to speak to representative. I had to use a friend's cricket information to get to a representative. Another issue, one month they undercharged me when I upgraded service plans...how was I suppose to know. Then 3 months later my bill was about 13.oo higher that it should have been, with no explanation. An believe me, their customer reps do not care about any problems that you have!

My husband and I both have cricket service, and we love it. Yes, we occasionally have some dropped calls as we did with the other 3-4 services we had. Usually the dropped calls happen in the same areas of town, which is the same areas as other services. When we first go our servicethe service wasn't very good, but as the new cell towers went up the service has improved greatly. Give it a chance. We now have our home phone anywhere we are. The only thing my home phone is used for is my internet.

I can emphatically testify that the situation with the dropped calls, extremely pathetic customer service, and a disloyal company are all true for Cricket Communications. All they care about is getting your monthly payment with all their extra fees attached, and then they just treat you like yesterday's paper. Cricket just doesn't even make the mark as a cell phone company in my eye, more like a fischer price mojo going on for them. There are far superior cell phone companies out there for much better prices.

I would have been upset in this situation also. But this type of problem can occur with any company. I have had a cricket phone for over 2 years and have had no problems. I have a friend who had the same service though and he had a similar situation. Bottom line, this kind of service can happen with any cell phone company and so I wouldn't be so quick to judge.
