called sears for repair service on my washing machine and was prompted to purchase a services countract which would cover all my appliances at a cost of $35.00 per month and a $60.00 per repair maximum on all my home appliances. I would receive this cost on my washing machine even though I didn't have a contract. opped for the countract had the washing machine repaired..no problems.

around beginning of november 2015 called for repair on my electric stove top range warning light indicating the stove top was hot was not working. sears repairman came to home and said i needed a new burner. paid my $60.00,came back about a 10 days later installed the new burner and the warning light still didn't work. looked up part and said it wasn't available. called his supervisor who said "lights are not covered under warranty". So now I paid $60.00 for a burner i didn't need and if that part was available they probably would have installed it.

called about a month later as my range hood wasn't working properly. sears repairman came to home and said they don't repair that model and cross country, who took over the contract from sears, would take care of that. got a call from cross country stating they couldn't find someone to repair the unit and could i find someone. went on line found a company and called cross country gave them all the information. after a week and not hearing from cross country i called and they said they couldn't use that company because they required a credit card up front and cross country didn't have one. after weeks they found a local repairman and asked me to call and set up an appointment, which i did. my appointment was for a wednesday. on sunday morning, prior to my wednesday appointment, i get a call from that repairman stating he could come right over and look at the unit. as we had company at the house i told him that would not be convienient and would see him on wednesday as originally scheduled. never heard from him again and never reutrn my calls. range hood still not working properly!!

feb 8th i called cross country as my sears electric clothes dryer was not working, no heat. they told me sears could not get there until march 5th but i should call a company, above the rest, who does their repairs and schedule an appointment. above the rest came to the house, in a small suv, maybe a nissan cube, and said i needed a heater element and they would order it. they came back about 10 days later installed the element said it's working fine. left the house. i did a load of laundry, within minuted after he left, put it in the dryer, no heat. called above the rest, and left a message, you rarely get them on the phone. they called back and said maybe it's something else and i might have to pay another $60.00. I complained to them and set up and appointment and said i would call cross country regarding the addition $60.00 payment. i complained to cross country that i didn't want to pay for above the rests repairman's education but if it was something totally different i wold pay. day of appointment comes, no above the rest. they said they didn't hear back from cross country so cancelled the appointment. finally after another 10 days or so they show up and said the heather element they got from cross country was deffective and would have them order another one. about 2 weeks later the new one comes in and they show up to install it. this is now march 18th. the repaiman installs it and says its not working because the fuse is bad. goes into his little vehicle and said he didn't have one and would get one from one of the other repaimen and would be back tuesday the 22nd. tuesday comes i call above the rest and they said they had to order a part. next day called cross country and they said the part, a fuse, was on order and as soon as it came in above the rest would be back. could not give me any date for the part to be delivered. called cross country again on the 28th. after two phone calls they were waiting for the part and would call me back, also if i didn't hear back from them with 6 hours, i should call them. called the next day twice to find out they only ordered the part on the 28th and could only say it is schedule to be received on the 30th. so here i am on the 31st, no calls from anyone.

i worked for sears years ago and their service was awesome, which is the reason i went for the contract in the first place. never knew or was told they would transfer that contract to cross country. these people are beyond incompetent. my suggestion is "do not deal with these people", buyer beware. if you fell you need a maintenace contract try to find someone else. ps i put a complaint into the attorney general's office in nj, they transfered that to the attorney general's office in florida and nothing has happened.
