I was contcted by e-mail from a girl looking for an apartment so she could go to college. Her Dad would pay and then he e-mailed me and said he would send a large check for her first month and last onth and for me and then I should send someof the money back to him sohe could pay for her to come to the states from England. the check was for $3,645.00 and the bank would not cash it or let me put it in my account. The check was from the Dad's friend in California and when I wrote to the Dad, Mack Scott and his daughter, Melisa Scott today and told them about the probm I had wirth depositing the check neither of them responded. I preusme both of them are really one person and had read their neames last week in your paper where someone had the same thing happen to them. I am sorry for people who get caught in these kinds of problems. I have written both of them today and said they should not contact me any more or I will call the police. Nancy

These people are one and the same but they do not live here in the US - they most likely live in Nigeria. They were counting on you to deposit the check then probably ask for their money back so you dodged a bullet there.
