I was very lucky to read the comments that so many of you had to write before I had to deal with these people. They are in Albuquerque, NM and go by the name StarCorp Marketing. I have a very similar story, but there are a few new twists that I am sure you will find entertaining.

First off, I found the ad on Monster.com, and sent an email to them with my resume. Within 2 hours, they responded asking me to call them to set up an interview. That was kind of strange because it usually takes a company several weeks to read all of their resumes before contacting people. I went in for the interview, and all I got was a lot of hot air, as well as the web address to cydcor.com, which I went home to look at. That night I got the usual phone call telling me that I got the second interview, and to wear comfortable shoes because I would do a lot of walking. I went back to the internet and found this website warning people about them.

I decided to take the advise with a grain of salt, and decided to go to the second interview armed with a lot of questions about benefits such as tuition assistance, health benefits, paid vacation and so on. I was also prepared to ask for contact information to a Human Resources person because I was warned by people here about their deception. I thought that if they were acting the same way, I could warn others that were there based on their actions and answers to those questions.

I went in for the interview, and this is where the story takes a twist. I was told to be there between 9:15 and 9:30. I showed up at the office (which was actually kind of nice) and nobody was there. It looked abandoned. The door was locked, and the phone was ringing. I waited around thinking I may have been mistaken, and thought I was there late. Then another person showed up, and he told me that he was also told to be there at 9:30. We waited around for about 20 minutes, and then the janitor for the building came around. He said that they had been there earlier but must have left. He said that they come and go all day.

I told him that we were supposed to meet them at 9:30, and he told me that earlier in the week two other guys were waiting outside at 9:30, and the exact same thing happened to them. I think that they picked up that I might have been too smart for them and was able to see right through them, and decided to purposely waste my day by not showing up. I guess in my case I wouldn't have taken the job even if I hadn't read this website, because I would not work for someone that can't keep appointments.

The next couple of days I sent them emails. I made myself sound like I was really excited to work there, and asked what happened that they missed the appointment. I made it seem like I wanted a chance. I was hoping to get a response that I could post here, but after 2 emails, I still have not gotten a response. If I do, I will post it here. I bet they are sitting there jerking off with themselves because they got a thrill out of wasting my day. I just hope that others will read these posts, and stay away from these people.

The manager told me that he was sorry for standing me up at my interview.

I was finally contacted by this office in Albuquerque, not in response to my emails, but in response to this report. The manager told me that he was sorry for standing me up at my interview. He told me that he had left a little early that morning, before I was scheduled to get there. He asked me why I wrote this report, and I told him that after I sent 2 emails, I got a response with a phone number to a night club in Albuquerque. I told him that it was then that I was upset about having my time wasted. He apologized again. He told me that someone else must have sent me the email, because some other s had access to his email address. He then stated the name of the night club, and said that other people were given this same number. I found this a little odd, because I never told him the name of the night club. Either he ACTUALLY did send me that email, or he had gotten complaints from other people about this. He wished me luck on my job hunt, and I wished him luck also. I also said that I hoped that he didn't get ripped off like so many others already had. I will give him some credit; he was very polite through the whole conversation. He never got angry like so many other people have said about their managers. He asked me to remove this post, and I am not even sure that I can do that, but instead I decided to write again. I don't think too many people from Albuquerque will even see this. Also, given all the reports that I read, I still was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. It was him standing me up that made me think differently about this office. The manager did tell me one other thing on the phone. He did tell me that he has learned a lot with this company, but was very new to management. Well, I'd like to give him some management advice. First of all, you should NEVER give anybody else access to your email address, or anything else that might reflect badly on yourself. Whether or not this actually happened, you are still responsible for the consequences for those actions. Also, be more honest with people. This manager told me that he was not like the many other bad managers that this company has, and I kind of want to believe him, but I have one thing to say to him about that. If he would have told me in the FIRST interview that this was a commission only job, I would have told him that I was not interested, I would have declined the second interview, I would have never had the negative experience, and I would have never reported this here. I think he should be more honest in his approach. He would have saved me time, and in the long run, he would have saved yourself time, because he would not have had to call me back. To give them the benefit of the doubt, they may have good training when it comes to THEIR business, but they don't give their managers GENERAL MANAGERIAL SKILLS. I don't think a lot of this is specifically the Albuquerque manager's fault, but rather, it is the fault of the system in general. With those GENERAL MANAGERIAL SKILLS, a lot of the reports that I see here would not have been reported in the first place.

They are very childish.

I have had more contact with these people in the last few days. At first I tried to send some emails to them asking why they did not show up for the interview. I think I sent three emails with no response. Then, on a whim, I decided to use my other email address and send them an application. I sent them the exact message and resume that I had sent them before, including my name. They didn't even think. They replied to that email telling me that I was accepted for ANOTHER interview. I guess they didn't see the other emails in their email box from me complaining about them. But wait, it gets even better. They finally replied to my email about them not showing up to the interview. They had no response, but gave me a phone number to call. I called the phone number, and it was a phone number to a local night club, so either the manager is a drunk who is always at a bar, or he is just plain childish. I personally think it is the second, but in either case, would you want to work for this guy? I THINK NOT!!!
