Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I started with a Cydcor affiliate office last year and was brainwashed like so many others into believing the scam! The biggest lie they tell you, aside from how much money you will make, is about taxes. When I started and I saw how many miles I would be putting on my car, I asked about mileage reimbursement. Unlike others, I had worked in the "evil" corporate America where they reimburse you for miles. I was told don't worry, it's all a tax writeoff. We were told to buy lunch for interviews and guys on your crew because-oh, they are all tax writeoffs. What a lie!!! Yes, you do get to claim them on your taxes, but YOU DON'T GET IT ALL BACK. 75% of what I earned in the cult went to "business expenses" and I only saw $1000 of it back. My accountant says that enough people will testify to them saying everything is a tax writeoff and we have a class action. Wake up people!

This scam will isolate you from your friends and your family-why do you think they want you to spend weekends with "your crew"? Because normal people might "neg" (not a real word)you out. Notice how what their ads say on career sites are not what you will be doing-has anyone "assessed demographics" while working there? Not a chance. Everything in these companies is a lie, from what they teach you sell, to what you tell interviews, to the "salary" you get as an Assistant Manager.

Oh, by the way good luck if you're a female working there and get asked anything about your personal life that might be upsetting to you. Whatever you do, don't show any tears or emotion. According to the owner I worked for, women are too emotional and if they shed tears they won't make it in the business. He knows who he is and what he has done. One more comment like that will land him a sexual harassment suit that he deserves. I have very strong ties to several business communities that I have informed not to listen to anyone who cold calls in their establishment. Especially anyone who starts their pitch with "I'm here on behalf of..."

My friend's wife worked a week and a half at BellStar Promotions, and quit after a week and a half. We thought she was nuts for quitting a job that could be making a lot of money. After finding out they are another Cydcor MLM monkey scam, quitting was the smartest thing she did. As for Pinnacle Advertising, there is a couple respectable advertising agencies that do real ad work named Pinnacle, one is in IL and they actually have a professionally done wesbite, not a created over night hackjob I see Siler-Milton and 4D marketing has.

You ask why two people trained on the same sales model, selling the exact same product can vary so much in productivity? THEY ARE NOT HONEST INDIVIDUALS! How in the world do you think the managers of these companies got where they were? Take for example a situation that happened in the office where I worked-I was very frustrated at the difference in sales between Detroit and Milwaukee, as were most of the group that relocated to Detroit. There was, however, one individual who was consistently earning $700-$1000 a week, while the rest of us were only earning $300-$500 a week, if that. Was it because he worked soooo much harder or smarter than the rest of us? No, it was because he was making up businesses and lead numbers and getting paid for them. Yet the whole time I was struggling, my manager insisted that this individual was better at sales than me. No, I was just more honest. The day I left that company was the day that I finally figured out that in order to sell enough to live on, I had to either be dishonest or toe the line in a gray area. Chris, you don't have a life working for a Cydcor affiliate. Answer this for me- why, if Siler Milton is such a great company and the opportunity is so great, would Mr.Siler have to LIE in order to get interviews? My income right now is superfluous (get a dictionary out) to my accustomed (again, dictionary) standard of living and I only work 40 or less hours a week. Oh yeah, and I just got back from a two week vacation in Europe. Life is meant to be enjoyed, Chris. By the time you accumulate the money you need to retire and live according to Cydcor standards and what they preach you should have, you will be too old to enjoy it. That is, IF you make it to management, and IF your company doesn't go under as so many others have.

I, too, worked for Siler Milton Group. I was hired after I worked for Kaisen International. Kaisen was Keith Baldwin's office, which was relocated to Philidelphia PA to work another campagn. I was offered the option to go to Philidelphia, go to Salt Lake City, or to stay in Detroit. (a company that offers options, and the ability to relocate if desired.) I stayed in Detroit. Let me back up a second. Kieth Baldwin was a Rookie manager, he was promoted out of a seperate office all together. He was partnered up with Brett Siler because they would be able to teach eachother different management skill. Keith ran into a personal situation which obligated him to be in Europe for an extended time. I doubt many of you are business owners, but I am sure you can appreciate the dificulty in trying to run a business in Detroit MI from Europe. None the less, many of his employees quite by the time he had gotten back to the states. This is when he moved his office to PA, and started on another campagn. A pilot campagn, in fact. I still chose to stay in Detroit and work for commision. While in Brett Silers office, I saw alot of people come and go. Why, because what we do is extreemly difficult. We do work our a*& off. We do put in long hours. We do work in the heat, in the rain, in the snow. But, if you have patience, and you give yourself a chance, you can make decient money. Im not refering to managment, Im refering to the field. An average rep in an average office makes $500 a week. $500 a week, equals $25,000 a year. May not sound like much, but guess what, one thing about commission based work is that you can make more money. How? Get better at what you do. If your not satasfied making $500 a week, kick it up a notch. I know, I make it sound so easy. It really is though. Like anything in life, you get out of it what you put into it. Are there reps that make $150 a week? Yes. Why is that? Why would 2 people, who were taught the same sales model, out of the same office, working in the same enviroment, selling the same office supplies, out of the same book, with the same negitives, (heat, weather, ect...) vairy so much? Is it because one person was brain washed more than the other? Or, could it be because one person worked harder than the other? I'll leave it to you to decide. I will say this, if I was working 50-60 hours a week, and I was only getting paid $150 for it, I would start asking some serious questions. For one thing, I would ask what the hell am I doing wrong? Which is what is encouraged. Then they can take a look at what it is that you are doing wrong, and attempt to fix it. This, they call leadership. I will dwell on this no mor OK, now for the decietfull interviewing proccess. The first interview is short. Its an oppertunity to allow the Manager decide if you are attractive. Figuritivly, and litteraly. The sad fact is that we live in a society that judges people on how they look. Also, we have agrements with our clients that we will represent them in a professional mannor, and business professional atire. So, would it be benificial to have someone come in for a full day interview who is shabby-dressed, or in no way possessing the professionalism we are looking for? I doubt it. Second interview is structured so that an interviewee can see what will be expected of them if they are offered a position. This also gives the leader/trainer the opertunity to gain interviewing experiance. Durring the 2nd interview, the management training program. At this time, pay is discussed at each level. Entry Level is commission based, and the average rep makes $500. At Leadership/trainer level, you are paid commission, and make on average $700. To be honest, most make between 500-700. After leadership, your promoted to assistant manager. You are paid salary of $1000 a week, plus 52%commission, most of which goes into a savings account in order to show you can save money. Then management, which is described as a 6 figure income. Thats exactly how the MTP is broken down. After the day is compleete, a third interview is conducted. This is for two reasons. One, to answer any and all questions the interviewee has that wasn't explained durring the day. And two, to offer a position if applicable. And now, for the all illusive management position. In the past year, I have seen 2 people get promoted to management. Siler Milton Group has also just promoted an assistant manager. And guess what, it was a Woman. I relocated when offered the oppertunity to go to Houston. I have been "in the business" for 14 months. Am I a manager, no. Am I an assistant manager, nope. Why? Because I half *&*& my commitment for a long time. Could I have done somethings differently and gotten promoted? Possibly. Have I grown personally and professionaly having had worked for Siler Milton Group, most certinly. Well, enough of my rantings. You can feel free to respond negitivly, or positivly, or you can even posi-neg if you so chose. However, if you have no idea what your talking about, dont bother. If you want some more information about SMG, I will gladly assist you. Chris H.

After leaving the Cydcor office we were working at, my roommate was recruited online by a company that sounded a whole lot like Cydcor. She called the company and spoke to a guy that said he was the president. When she asked if they were affiliated with Cydcor, he said no and proceeded to attempt to set up an interview. My roommate was suspicious, so she did some more investigating only to find out that they were in fact affiliated with Cydcor. Word to the wise, some of these people will downright LIE about Cydcor to get you in for an interview. Do some investigating. They all run pretty much the same campaign, will ask you to go on an all day unpaid interview (and may ask you to drive the person interviewing you). They will also say "performance based pay and bonuses) Take my word-any legitimate company will be forthcoming with any information regarding pay, and benefits and you will receive information upon a job offer. Don't put yourself in debt for an "opportunity" like this.

I worked for an office in Livonia Michigan that was actually 2 offices joined together. Both Managers were dirtballs. Within 5 days i was promoted to account manager and thought i was in for the big bucks. Needless to say i was just in for less sleep, more spending and more lies. It all began with the interview. LIES LIES AND MORE LIES. The guy that interviewed me was a sweaty nasty icky guy and i begged them not to put him with me again. Then the two managers offered me a position, i just wanted a job out of the restaurant world. SO i get this job and i end up having to work from 7 am to 8pm and made to hang out with these co workers of mine. After working there for a couple months i had to go to this regional meeting to hear the big dogs speak and let me tell you that was an all expense NON paid Trip. We had to sit and listen to these speakers talk about how they all started where each one of us were. After returning to work and producing and making decent money (enough to cover expenses) I was requested to do training. One of the young ladies wasn't exaclty pleasing to the eye and was basically "negged" out so she would quit. They continued to do this with women of different races as well. The guys were praised the women were made to feel like they weren't worth crap. I got really sick with a viral illness and my boss kept telling me i had to come into work. Not only did we not get paid insurance but they didn't give a crap about whether or not you passed on your illness to everyone else. Finally i said screw it and quit i coulnd't take it anymore.I happend to quit while my manager was in another country. When i went to pick up my check i guess my manager and the other manager that were sharing offices got into it and my manager was kicked out. The remaining manager then proceeded in telling me that my manager was going to keep my check and all kinds of other crap and then offered me a job. After going through this first handed i will say that Cydcor is ridiculous and they thrive on the turn over because the majority of the sales people leave before they get good. If they get too good they make too much. Give me a break this pyramid crap is horrid. The best part of it all is that it is April 26th and i just recieved my w2 from last year...a week ago. Screw Cydcor, Screw Siler Milton group (brett Siler) And SCREW Kieth Baldwin of Kaizon Marketing (which by the way has been like 3 different companies in three different states)

T, the only reason I got the $1000 back was because at the job I worked before taking the Cydcor job I had wisely claimed "0" on my federal withholding and was making decent money there. The money I got back wasn't from deductions or from "writing it off". Sorry if I wasn't very clear. While I don't want to name the specific office, I will say that it is one on your list and is relatively new to the Detroit market. I too, had seen this site after being directed to it by a leader on my team. I went to my manager with it, who said that it is only for people who couldn't cut it and weren't going to be successful in life. They actually had me brainwashed into thinking that it was true and that's why I hung on for another six months before quitting. And you know what? My manager is right-this business isn't for everyone. If you have ethics, are honest, and aren't a deceptive person then don't work for a Cydcor office, because that it what it takes to be successful with them. I tell every business owner, recent college grad, or anyone I know of looking for a job to absolutely stay away from these companies. They will suck you into their web of lies and deceit!!!

#14UPDATE EX-employee responds

Amy, which Cydcor office did you work for? Just curious. It's funny. I worked for a Cydcor office in the Metro Detroit area last year for 2 months. That may not seem like a long time but to those familiar with the company, you know it really is. The fact of the matter is that most people quit during their first week. I discovered this website while I was still working there but after I had decided to quit (made my mind up on a Tuesday night to quit, but I figured I'd finish out the week). I'll share a bit of my story and try to be reasonable in my explanations. I didn't find it quite as negative as a lot of you on here, but there was definitely deception involved and had I known the real story, I'm not sure I would've taken the job. I was like most people who take this job: a new grad looking for a job. I took it because at the time I couldn't get anything else and I needed something to pay bills. I did the first interview and day of O and all that. It seemed a bit shady but I decided to give it a shot. A small red flag went up when they offered me the position and they told me that they needed to know by the next day whether or not I would accept. Looking back on it, they were clearly concerned that I would research the company and become negged out. I suck at sales so I took longer than most to get into leadership but didn't really hang around long enough after that to build much of a crew. We had a leaders meeting one morning and something interesting happened. We were specifically told to NOT use the Cydcor name at all in front of a person we were taking out for a Day of O. Not during the day, not during the lunchtime breakdown, never. Why? This was when we were told that people go online and badmouth the company because they were negged out. I understood how this could happen but didn't think much of it at the time. A couple of weeks later, after I had decided to quit, is when I discovered this site. I spent a lot of time reading peoples' stories and I can see how just about all of them are true. The bottom line is that a lot of these bad stories probably happened with bad owners as their bosses. I was fortunate to not have this problem. Management in the office I worked in was very good, in fact maybe even some of the best in the country. For a lot of you, if you had better management you probably wouldn't have had nearly as bad of an experience. In fairness, you do learn a few things during this job. If you make it long enough, you can learn how to run a business. You learn about sales techniques and management. If you are good enough at it, you really can make a lot of money. I've met people in the business who have their own houses, or drive BMWs, etc. BUT the thing is, they say all the time we're not looking for people in sales, we're looking for people who we think can become management. Well, fact of the matter is you don't get into management without being good at sales. So that statement is a load of crap. You are taught to provide the minimal amount of information possible to a new person or a potential customer. Also, every owner I met said We don't have to answer to anybody. No one tells us how to run our companies. Riiiiiight. So the conference calls with Cydcor people and also the client (SBC, Verizon, Quill, First Horizon, AT&T, whoever) are for your health. Financially, the job was a nightmare. Never before had I ever been in credit card debt before I started that job. Also, as many others said on here, you are NOT reimbursed for mileage or any other expenses. Oh, you just write it off, they say. Fact of the matter is that most don't make enough to have any of it matter. About a month ago I completed my tax return and I was unable to get any of my money back that I spent. (Amy, if you got $1000 back I'd really love to know how! lol). I literally spent more than I made, whether it was for work or other normal expenses (rent, utilities, bills, etc.). Something has got to be fishy when you meet a manager and they drive a 10-year old car with no air conditioning or something like that. People in the office do live together, I do know that for a fact. Any road trips to other offices in other parts of the country or conferences or any of that, also not reimbursed. So, onto why I decided to leave. First off, as I said before I wasn't making any money. Secondly, after several weeks I wasn't getting any better. Third, there were people much better than me in the business that still were in the field after quite a long time. For example, I met someone who had been in the field for 2 years. 2 years! And a few more others were in the business for about a year and they still hadn't made it to assistant management! That threw up a huge red flag. Lastly, as I learned more and more about the company, the role of management became less appealing to me. I already worked 55-60 hours a week. I have a strong work ethic but working 55-60 hours for around $125 a week wasn't cutting it. If you're in management you generally get to your office around 6:15-6:30am and usually stay until around 7:30pm. Working on Saturdays isn't uncommon, although I never did it. Some probably-not-very-successful owners will reply on here well you just couldn't take it or you just weren't tough enough. I left because this job wasn't for me. The only tough part of the decision to leave was the fact that I honestly got along with pretty much everybody there-save for a couple of overly-hyper annoying people but you'll find that anywhere. People would want me to hang out all the time on weekends and I figured I may be making some friends. After I quit those requests obviously stopped. In hindsight, they care more about how you can benefit them than they care about you as a person. They're good people though and I honestly wish them all the best of luck for those who are still there. If you're good at sales and cold-calling, this job is for you. Watch out for career ads though on sites like Monster, Careerbuilder, HotJobs, etc. Some of them contain information that is just flat out not true. A few examples are paid training, benefits, and salary. There are none of those associated with this job. It's strictly a commission job. Any health insurance you get while you're in the business comes out of your pocket. The only way you get paid during training is if you make a sale. While I was job searching awhile back I found several similar ads for jobs in the Detroit area. Some of the following I know for a fact are Cydcor offices, while others simply appear that way due to the content of their ads: -The Siler-Milton Group -Pinnacle Advertising -Bellstar Promotions -KGV Advertising -Atlantic Consultants International -Immersion Marketing Systems -BOSS Advertising -Rockland International Again, I am not telling you to not apply but just be sure to do your homework. I am thankful that I now have another job with benefits and a stable income to support myself on, and I don't even have to be in 95 degree heat in a suit to do it! Best of luck to you all.
