Why would I expect you to like it? The general tone of your complaint is "I did nothing! The big, bad car dealer took advantage of me! I have NO responsibility to be a smart consumer!" Go ahead, waste your time on the BBB and every government agency you can think of. The BEST tools you have at your disposal, are very, very close to you...your head and your feet. If some how, some way you can reach the point of learning you have the ultimate responsibility here then that will motivate your feet to walk out the door the next time any dealer treats you like garbage. I truly am sorry this dealer took advantage of you and we are 100% in agreement with that. You and I cannot change the way some dealers operate unless and until we take a firm stand that we are NOT GOING TO BE DOORMATS! Schlock operations love the meek, the doormats, the car crazy the payment shoppers and the uninformed. I rest my case!

John, right now it sounds like you may be pretty much screwed. But there is hope... You need to destroy your car. Honda (and nissan) engines have timing belts that will break around 60,000 (maybe sooner) and destroy your engine- you need to make sure this happens within the warranty period. Replacing your engine in not cheap (money wise) for honda, and they just as well should give you a new car. Keep doing this and you will be screwing them (get the picture) like they did you. You need to go out to your car every morning (preferably cold) and just start it and start revving the hell out of it. Might even want to put it in drive and see how much you can rev it standing still. This will become fun after a while and you might even can get neigbors to help. (Teenagers will especially love this) And you will be well on your way to honda giving you a new engine (or car)-at their expense. Just imagine the looks on their faces when you do this a couple of times... Now before a certain disgruntled firestone tire employee from Oklahoma chimes in here and starts trying to discredit me, I will say I AM NOT A HONDA OR NISSAN CERTIFIED MECHANIC so these are just basic ideas and you may want to talk to someone with "expertise" in these cars. (but not connected to the dealer, unless they are also disgruntled) But I believe this might help your situation, and for faster results you could even drain a little oil out of you car when doing this-(but dont go too far, or they might be able to pin this on you) so be careful and happy motoring! p.s. Listen to Stick - You really dont need that new car, and chances are it will be worse in the long run than your old one (unless youve really abused it-see above) Ponder these... Years back having a huge car meant you had something solid and was easy to work on.... Flash forward- Today, cars are just as huge, solid? depends on how solid you think plastic is..Easy to work on?-ha, open the hood and try to name a few parts... It seems gas mileage (CAFE) hasnt changed much since the eighties...Most cars then and today still average around 20-30 mpg...So with all the plastic and "tech" goodies in new cars, how come we aint saving much gas??? Okay you will say, what about gas-electric hybrids???- These are just a small minority right now. My personal opinion- good idea, but when we still cant get a car battery to last much more than a couple years, why would you want your whole engine to be a battery??? In a few years when these people have to replace their "engine/battery" they will wonder where all that money saved on gas has gone? And finally, Ive noticed mid range car prices havent really went WAY up either.(give or take) Soo, with inflation and labor costing more today than years back how can we still sell some cars at about the same price as say 10 years ago? hmmm maybe the components are being made of less expensive materials....like plastic intake manifolds? Im sure some people will try to debate this last point so I am open to discussion on that. good luck!

I think that I have learned a great leason from this deal. I just hope that I can get it out to enough people, that they can learn from it too, before they get screwed. I want to thank you for your honesty and your support. I have emailed, mailed letters, to the BBB, FTC, American Honda, local TV stations, radio stations, several other Honda dealerships, I am trying to get the word around. I think that the "word of mouth" is sometimes the strongest. BTW no sempathy here! I didnt like your rebutall, but I didnt think that all feedback that I got was going to be good. So far out of almost 150 emails and letters that I have sent out, you are the only negative one. So, you have a nice day!..

For the past 7 years I have been trying to protect consumers from just what has happened to you. Car dealers do NOT care what you want, they do NOT car what you say, they do NOT care if they F U. It is all about praying on your emotions so they can take your money before the next car dealer does. Just like the great thorn says There are many companies that teach auto sales people how to not listen to what you say. They only teach them how to get you locked into any kind of a car deal. Now the auto makers do NOT care as to how a car dealer treats you. just so long as a sled is sold! Never, not for one-second think that your local dealer is on your side, you know like they want to be your friend in the business. It's only a ploy to get your money. John am I wasting my time? Post your thoughts! The problem we have in this country with car buyers is the following. Buying a new car is only a temporary emotional fix. After your new car gets a few dents, someone spills a cold soda on the seats and some A. Hole bangs in a door at a parking lot you new temporary emotional fix is now an old car just like all others on the road. The only thing different is that you are now making much bigger payments on an old sled that you owe much more than it is worth. So much for that new car that made you feel good. Then a few years down the road you pick up the news paper and read the many lies and deception that is printed everyday and do it all over again! Please don't take me wrong! What I am saying it is time that car buyers understand that this industry is one big F ING game. They just make cars designed to pray on your emotions so some A HOLE can make a big pay check. Now on to your lease that might be a F upped car deal. You might find that your car dealer did what is called maxing the cap, maybe they might sold you an over priced warranty that will or will not help you when you are in need. Don't tell me that they jammed you into a 60 month lease with a payment that you THOUGHT was a good deal or sold you some kind of dumb insurance policy. Most are not selling, they are just looking for things that they can throw at you so they can take your money. Note to all who work in the auto industry: You A HOLES love screwing the public just to make your VOUCHER BIGGER! You all know that most if not all AG's are not willing to go after you because they are not willing to get off of their FAT a*s and do something to this industry. Just like a friend says. " There might be an underground buddy buddy system to keep this deception up and running. John don't EVER think that your local AG's office will ever get off or their FAT a*s and pass a 3 day cooling off period, so that if for any reason you feel a strange sensation in your bottom side about your car deal that you car unwind it and back off from the car buying and re think what your NEEDS REALLY ARE! I think that there is a system between the AG's and car dealers that keep the deception going. Who knows which way the money goes after a car deal is done. Who knows who's pockets are lined after a car deal is done! Bottom line, Most car dealers will do what ever it takes to lock you into some kind of a car deal, good or bad. They do not want to hear that their competition crushed one of their UP's. Note to all and I mean ALL would be car buyers: Stop listening to your radio commercials, STOP listening to your local TV commercials and to HELL with the advertisements in your local newspapers. Most are nothing but more deception to lead you to their A. Holes that will and I mean will take you to the cleaners. Think about it for a second, Let's say that you were listing to your favorite radio station and you heard what you thought was a good car buying deal. You go to the dealer and get screwed, you call up your radio station and say "Hey your advertisment told me I could get a good car deal at so in so car dealer. They ripped me off! Do you think for one secone that your loving radio station is going to pull that car dealer's advertisement because you got rippped OFF, Hell no! It is all about MONEY if your favorite radio station did not run car dealer advertisements they would loose a big chunk of money. So no matter how many car buyers get screwed, your favorite radio and TV stations will continue to run what ever the big guys want to cramm down your ears to make you think they are going to help you. YEA right help you. It is so funny when I go to the store and watch a person buy a dozen eggs. they pick through the whole pile to find a good batch of egges. That very same person will do NO research before they sign what they car dealer cramms in their face to sign. What's up with that? Are eggs more important the getting screwed by your so called friendly car dealer? Some of you car buyers say, Well we have a friend in the business, he will never take us to the cleaners. YEA RIGHT! If you go to the same car dealer each time you buy a car you are giving them permission to go deeper then the last time they sold you are car. When I sold cars and I had a car buyer that told me that they like the service or they like the way the dealer treated them, They just gave the sales person the OK to do what ever he wants because they are saying that they have NO plans to go anywhere else. When a car buyer has plans to LOOK at the new cars on the market, they need to LEAVE their money, credit cards, title, all at HOME. Never buy a car the first day you go to a dealer. YEA I know the sales person told you that they only have one like you want, or they said that this special is screwing is only today! GET UP and go HOME! SCREW the car dealer and their staff. car buyers need to do some home work before they signa d**n THING Many might think that I have a bit of anger toward the auto industry, YES i do, because no one in the government will do a d**n thing to the auto industry to stop the deception. well, I am going to start recording auto dealer radio commercials and sending them that I think are misleading to the FTC. Let's just see if the FTC will do anything! If you who read this think or even hear of someone thinking of going to a car dealer MAKE SURE they read these rip off reports before going to any car lot. I am thinking of just saying to hell with helping consumers. It does not pay to protect. You get paid only if you are pushing "it" in the right direction! It seems that car buyers are only willing to listen to deception then the truth. So much for that "temporary emotional fix" America WAKE UP!

I honestly cannot understand some of you people. You bet...there are TONS of slime balls and scum in the car business. Many, many dealers "M. O." is to con and defraud. However, you played DOORMAT. Your girlfriend (I think) was having sugar problems and you just stayed there??? In what cell did they keep you??? You "stayed" there...they didn't keep you. You either demand your keys and they comply or you call the police. Its that simple. They treated you like dirt and what did you do??? You REWARDED them! This scenario is almost funny. Not only that, you got into a CAR FLEECE! Incredible! I don't feel sorry for you...you guys have two sets of feet. You could have walked out at any time. Go ahead and get as mad as you like at me. For me to tell you what you want to hear accomplishes nothing. Next time, don't play doormat. When the dealer treats you like dirt, get ouyt of there. The scum of the car business stay in business because of doormats!
