I worked for David Papen and Eco Cabins, now Omega Mod Group, in the early summer of 2017. I received my first partial paycheck on time, but after my first paycheck I never received another check on time after that. They were always late and endless promises that he would have a check for us tomorrow and that day would come and go and no check.
I did some landscaping projects and tree removal for him that I have never seen a dime for doing those projects. He suckered me into the job with promises of a company truck and cellphone, I never received a company truck and used my personal cellphone the entire time that i worked for him. He never reimbursed any of those cost and also I paid out of pocket for some of his expenses when his credit cards would not work.
I understand that businesses struggle and money gets tight, but don’t hire people if you can’t pay them! Also if you can’t pay your employees don’t let your employees see you and your wife at the casino nightly. He at one point owed owed his employees together more than $5,000 and he bought a Mercedes, used, but still??
Then told us that he would have checks for us the next day and he and his family left that night and went to South Dakota for a month. Did not pay any of us. Yet told us would send checks in the mail, which never came. A week later the electricity was shut off. The following week an investor came to his house looking for money that David had promised him, he had loaned money to David for the Mercedes. It was constant issues like this.
I worked for him for a total of 8 weeks. He still owes me around $1800, to which I have given up on ever receiving. I just wanted to put this warning out there to people that he wants you to work for him, also to the investors and customers. No one should ever trust him or anything that he is saying.
He has great ideas and everything always looks and sounds great, but he has no follow through on anything!
