DC Surgical Arts Dr Scott Rothenberg Deceitful...overbilling ....all about the money. District of Columbia Washington
Sept 2017 . I had 2 broken off teeth in great pain due to raw tongue scraping against "jagged glass". I read good yelp reviews about Dr Tien and made appointment for him. Waitied a couple of days an dupon my arrival they tell me he's on vacation for 2 weeks ! Why they didn't tell me that on the phone only offers one reason...lure in the money. My tongue was so painful I took a chance on Rothenberg. He collected my out of pocket cash money up front and then I find out during the appointment that he did not do the surgicals extractions, he did simple extractions.
The difference is $ 250 per tooth ...$500.00 extra ! He not only overcharges me but caused me significant pain becasue he didn't numb me enough for the anesthetic injection. Despite my pain he ploughs on and and tells me to "be quite, I'll scare his other patients." He leaves my holes unsutured and no antibiotics. The total bill for that miserable day was 250 "consultation", 900 ( 2 teeth extracted) and 50.00 ( infection control- prior to COVID? )
It gnawed on me that the extractions wer leberld as surgical when it wasn't and I suspected overbilling. DC Surgical Arts was unresponsive and Rotherberg has moved onto a practice in New York. I have grievances with the staff at DC Surgical for their bait n switch tactics and Rothenberg for being the greedy thieving schumuck that he is. I figure overcharge of $500.00. That's a lot for someone on a fixed income and in a vulnerable state.
