Just had a customer call me and report that a man from Liberty Automotive called and tried to sell him an extended warranty... this man also claimed to work here at my company and is a service advisor. However, our company does not solicit customers to purchase additional coverage after they have already purchased warranty coverage, use high pressure sales tactics or do dishonest business. This company is calling our customers and claiming to be us, smearing our good name. Thankfully this customer called and I was able to let him know it wasn't us. How many others have been called by Liberty Automotive/Dealer Services that will no longer do business here because they think we are a sleazy business and it was us who was calling? Makes me sick. They go after all the elderly customers hoping they don't have a computer to do their research and can scam them out of money! I tell all the elderly customers who call about these warranties to get some help researching before they buy anything and to pass this information to all their friends and family who mention irritating phone calls from warranty companies or junk mail stating "second notice, warranty expiration" and the like.

OK, so you used to work there and take their money; I don't know for how long but I do know from phrases you use that you were a manager or closer. Now you either quit or got fired and have this ARROGANT sense of RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION going. Just like a reformed anyone that did something for years and now that they have stopped the whole world should see the light and stop. Sales is sales; always has been and always will be. Would you buy a used car from this person? Probably not. Why do you have such an axe to grind? Do you miss them all? Did someone "pee" in your oatmeal? I left because I was studying to go back to nursing and that is what I have done. As I have already said selling warranties was not a great job, it was a JOB. Certainly better than some I have had and maybe more "scandalous" than some; still just a job. I now have a profession! I am a trained health care professional. Maybe you should investigate a career in something other than trying to rain on other peoples parades. How did that work out for you Howard? What the hell do you care? If you were that passionate about how bad you felt you wouldn't have actively participated in what you did for as long as you did it with no remorse while taking their money. I do have a suggestion for you John or are you George, no matter; find Ringo and Paul and put the band together; Suggestion for your first song; "It's a Long and Whiney Road!"

I just like to read these to see whats going on in the world, but i can tell right away who these people are. I worked at that company twice over a span of a year or so. The environment was god awful. And now i look back and see that it was pretty scandalous. Thank god i found something else. The people defending that company are the managers. One is acting as if he was just an employee. The angry ones must have been fired or quit and hated them. I'd say they are hated by everybody who works there because, well they are real jerks, rude, arrogant liars. All we did was call wrong numbers because the leads were so screwed up. Its real funny, because that is exactly what they tell the people. It's a strict 3 step process sir. You need to ACTVATE NOW! GRAB YOUR CREDIT CARD! It was so wrong. Yes we did say we were with dodge even though we weren't and yes the elderly people were goldmines. It is very sad. I'm happy I was able to find another job. And it pays better. Go figure. But if you ever get a call from these people expect to be lied to. Expect the warranty to be crap. And expect them to not give you your money back when you want a refund. Good luck America

Look in your own mirror..do you see what I see? Why did you leave that job? Sounds like a great job according to you, very professional ? Was it because they had you lying through your teeth to guys like Howard? Maybe you should explain why you guys informed Howard that you were from dodge/chrysler. In fact how did you obtain Howard's number? Poor Howard thought he was getting a real warranty for his truck. How would you feel if you thought you were getting a warranty for your truck and purchased this?... after all don't you tell the poor guys you scam when the truck breaks down day or night a tow truck will be provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and when the car is in the shop a rental will be provided, sometimes you even say at no cost to you.. THATS A LIE.... HAVE YOU EVER NEEDED A RIDE BECAUSE YOU HAD PROBLEMS WITH YOUR TRUCK like old Howard there? I BET YOU HAVE! That would suck if you got stuck in the situation old Howard got put in. And then Howard tried to cancel.. and they kept 500 bucks? Would you want to be lied to over the phone and cheated out of your hard earned money...me, NOT SO MUCH....what did the script read when you worked at Dealer Services?... How did you guys close guys like Howard?...What kind of pressure tactics did you use? Or did you too just straight out misrepresent yourself saying you were from the manufacturer, like they did to Howard? Quit attacking me, defend that wonderful company... and reply to the tactics and envronment described...why you know first hand.. you actually worked there..

Again I am a former employee who worked there for over a year. I do not know any employee who worked there named George so it must be some other ex-TSR. First during my time there I was paid what I was told I would be. Yeah I didn't always like the management, but who does? I didn't always get all the commissions I thought I would, but I didn't keep records so maybe I did. Third if there were all these people from rehab being given chances to work that sounds cool. I know the managers even hired some folks that were released from prison. If it was me I would not have taken the chance that I may be wasting money on folks that really don't want to work and may be court ordered but that's another can of soup. I was not one of them and I never dated anyone I worked with; not so much for many others. I am 42 years old and can honestly say I have had at least 15 sales jobs. I can honestly say that in every one of them there were unhappy sales people and unhappy customers. That's life. OK so selling warranties isn't your bowl of chili, screw it move on with life and don't blame all others for your failures. Maybe you should look in the mirror.

The operation is nothing more than 30 phones in a warehouse...5 closers walking around lying to old people while your TSR s...telephone service representatives try to make sense out of the poor people you call again and again yelling to take them off your list......but the visual is great...you have the obese bearded crooks- the Cohen's in the chatsworth office with the sri lankan kid and his buddies running around tryin to scam on every crackhead girl getting out of the re hab program...yah.. you know its true.. the good thing is that the consumers know now to immediateley contact the BBB and file reports with FTC and the state Attorney General's office...Mr. Shaftel...If you are in dire need of "closers" take an add out in the paper instead of calling former employees who left because they could not stand their job . ..or the Cohens...

I use to work for the auto warranty company in Plantation, Fl you are correct about the scam. They make about $250,000 a week in deals scamming elderly people and individuals who have brought vehicles. They purposely target older individuals because of vulnerability. I quit because the environment was completely unprofessional, there are no background checks for employees, there are convicted felons who have disclosed to me that they steal credit card numbers and information from individuals. I was absolutely shocked how they taught us in training how to treat customers. We were told to hang up if they ask for a supervisor, curse them out if they get upset, and lie to them saying we are going to take there name off the list. I only stayed for a week. I'm an honest person and it was unbearable hearing people as old as 93 begging and pleading for the phone calls to stop. I'm going to inform my local tv station, this place needs to be shut down. We read from scripts, lying about how long we have been in business and that we are affiliate with numerous manufactory and dealerships nationwide and in Canada. We even have to lie about what we cover for people's cars. On top of these issues they were extremely prejudice towards three new employees whom are gay. Management openly criticize and ostracized these guys about their sexual preference. The result was they quit after a few days. They allowed employees to partake in gay bashing and made it uncomfortable for them to work there. So on top of selling scams we have a horrible work environment. Anyone who needs employment can be hired without background checks. We have several convicted felons working there. At least two individuals have disclosed to me that they were convicted of a felony, one said he killed someone with his vehicle and his license is forever revoked. The other one wouldn't not speak about his conviction but I later learned from another employee that he molested a child. That was it for me, being a victim of molestation myself I could no longer work for a company who not adequately do background checks of people. I had to quit. The company uses an auto dialer system in which a recording is played and you have two options; press one for a rep, or two to be taken off the list. Pressing one for a rep, we basically ask you for your make, model, mileage, and year of your vehicle. Afterwards we start the lying immediately, asking for your number just in case we get disconnected, when we really are pulling information about you through whitepages.com. We read from scripts telling ALL customers that there vehicle warranty has expired even if they brought a brand new vehicle. We may be based in Plantation,Fl but the number we have on everyone's caller ID are from Detroit, Michigan. They tell us to sell urgency, to lie and tell the customer that your manufacture and dealer of your vehicle informed us that your warranty has expired and that this your last and final call(which it isn't). $50 bucks a deal. When people try to cancel them, they still charge their credit cards. I have several people nationwide whom have protested to this and are trying to take legal action to no avail because the number is untraceable. They won't sell to anyone in Florida because they fear being found. Even the number is bogus, for Miami the only area code being used are 954, 305, 754, and 561. When a customer asked me where our location was and I informed her, a closer yelled saying how we aren't suppose to tell and if they ask avoid answering or hang up. The quality of people, services offered, and that sense of urgency is bogus!!! Please people be smart, if you want an extended warranty speak with your dealership first because I quit this job because of the obvious scam we were taught to do to innocent people. If you see this information on your phone RUN!!!!! I'm not vindictive or malicious in any way, I chose to leave, I have nothing to gain from this, but people should be informed with valuable knowledge about telemarketing schemes, I hope I can save a few individuals time and money. Well for not knowing me you sure paid me off in one hell of a hurry after the federal and state agencies became involved. Wonder why?? Your company initially mis-represented itself then left me holding the bag - then when I wanted out it took extreme measures to resolove this issue. I really don't care that you are offended either. The purpose of this venue is to enlighten people about an experience so that they possibly won't make the same mistakes. This matter is closed now and I am disappointed in the manner in which your company does business and how I was mistreated, it's as simple as that. And anyone with half the ability I have in computers need only research your name to find the reams of negative feedback you or your company has earned.
