 I am a senior citizen whom is a disabled veteran of the Vietnam Era and the Gulf War. On October 12, 2013 my family and I ate breakfast at the Delectable Egg, 200 Quebec Street, Denver, CO 80230. The recommendation to dine at the restaurant came from fellow masonic and disabled veterans. As a federal employee proving service to fellow veterans, active duty members and reservist they also gave high recommendations. Due to safety concerns as a senior citizen I never carry money to pay for any transactions. All transactions are completed by credit cards for any service rendered. Therefore, a gratuity was given by me after the meal. I paid for the meal cost and left and discovered within less than four (4) minutes I had left my glasses that cost $175.00 had been left at the table. We immediately returned to the restaurant and informed the front counter employees about the matter. I looked for the glasses on the table and to stun in disbelief that table had been partially cleaned but the glasses had been removed. The front entry employees were informed about the issue and I asked to speak with a supervisor. During the conversation with the supervisor whom identified herself as Patty/ Pattie she disregarded the facts of the issue. She elevated her voice in an angry manner and became very unprofessional in a rude, irate and intimidating stating, “So you are calling us a liar?” I was the only African-American in the restaurant at the given time and she chose to humiliate, shorn, degraded, and racially profile me in the front of an all-white and Hispanic environment. She made the statement to indicate as if all black males are liars and she had to display her authoritarian position as a manager. For the sake of an argument I asked for the district manager contact information. Patty/ Pattie stated in a hostile voice “We do not have a district manager we are small and only have four stores.” She took a flyer from the front counter of the store where we were standing and circled it there location and stated, “You can call the manager on Monday and speak with her.” After showing her hallmark of rude unprofessionalism that seems to be ritual of Delectable Egg she bluntly left. The restaurant threw away my glasses in retaliation for not leaving a gratitude tip. I have an eye issue that requires ergonomics equipment in completing my job assignments and the wearing of my glasses. Also, the glasses are needed for driving, therefore I am unable to drive due to the restaurant racist conduct.

 Odds are that a customer came by right after you left and swiped your glasses. To blame the business, who would have seen the tip on the reciept, for stealing your glasses seems a tad retarded on your part. Youre supposed to be the intellegent one, remember. All your years of living and such. But I guess being "wise" is a whole lot different then being a "wiseass". As for the manager raising her voice, you cant sit there and tell ANYONE you were on your best behavour.

I feel sorry for the manager because she was taking your BS. Customer service doesnt pay enough to put up with idiots who think just because they paid for a meal, that gives them the right to abuse the employee. You do realize that had you acted this way to ANYONE on the street that they would have knocked you on your a*s, old age or not. You IMMEDIATLY jumped to conclusions that were NOT in evidence. It must be nice and safe on that high horse you ride on. You accuse others of theft with no proof other then your glasses are not where you left them.

You have obviously made a a*s of yourself. You have accused people of theft with no proof. Then to top it all off you compound the issue by posting about them online. I think YOU might be the racist here buddy. So given that a third part has examined your story and found the flaws in it. Dont you think you might want to re-evaluate YOUR actions?? How would you feel if some jackass came up to you and started acting a fool and accusing you of theft? Oh wait...I forgot...YOURE PERFECT......You just accuse everyone else.

Its common practice in EVERY business out there that if a customer leaves a item such as glasses or a cellphone, that its held for atleast 24hrs to give that person a chance to pick it up. It is possible that your glasses were on the table and a busboy picked them up to take and put in their lost and found. I dont know how long your blamefest took, but I would go back and just ask if anyone turned in your glasses. Its also VERY possible that when you got up you may have knocked your glasses to the floor and then they wouldnt be found until later that evening when they cleaned. See there are MANY other possible explanations as to what happend to your glasses. I think youre just too old and too stubborn to see anything beyond YOUR own prejudices.
