I have make several compliants about drug dealing in the community at nso neighborhood service organization and also the drmm rescue mission minstries shelter and also the salvation army shelter and the mariner inn.

These places are a port for fugitives and felons illegal alliens to sell drugs and prostitute in our community and specially in the african american. It's like these crimimals are just blending in with the rest of the african american community who are good citizens and not drug users stealing our natural resource like human services and medical benefits and also commit crime aganist african american citizen detroitiers too.

I feel that mr. rice and mr. bernard of the drug unit need to be investigated for being dirty police officers and selling drugs also the detroit police department too p.s. also the recorder court judges in detroit to need to be investagated for crime and also hate crimes

OK- leave Otis alone- but Detroit IS a dump

I was there c1975 and Detroit was A toxic dump. The RenCen was a joke- bad, expensive restaurants, etc. Dirty, unsafe streets. Someone getting whacked every day. If a body did not turn up by 5 PM, the police got worried. A restaurant on the only clean downtown street in Detroit (I think 2nd) was recommended by some insiders and I went with a friend. (Later I took my wife.) It was owned by two Sicilian brothers and they looked really formidable.... There were fine orientals on the floor and all waiters were chefs who prepared you meals at your table. A many-course truely, truely excellent meal was $15. A hard drink was $2 but it came in a large water tumbler and you had better only order one or you would not know where you were....I was told ahead of time that you left you unlocked car with the valet and he parked it in an open lot across the street. I asked before I went if my car would be safe there. The response: Are you kidding? What fool would touch it?

You poeple need to lay off. u have no clue how corrupt detroit really is. he is right. too much BS happening and if it seems everyone is out after him then maybe its because those poeple dont be like being expsoed for there wromng doing. live in detorit before u open mouths and insert foot. detroit is crime capital with a high murder rate drug rate and a thief for a mayor so no one will help anyone there unless it for there own gain like the rest of america.

Giving Otis the benefit of the doubt

The way I see it, there are two possibilities here. The first possibility is that Otis has had some negative run-ins with law enforcement in Detroit, and is trying to paint "the system" as the bad guy. If this is the case, then I think we all know what the appropriate response to Otis' reports is. The second possibility is that Otis is one of the thousands of law-abiding citizens in the City of Detroit that are surrounded by hundreds of criminals, and are frustrated with their ineffective city government. Detroit is a town in VERY rough shape. It's tough to be a law-abiding citizen in that town. They face constant victimization. And, right or wrong, it's pretty easy for them to attribute their poor quality of life to the ineffective delivery of necessary services, especially law enforcement. I've never been one to excuse a legitimate complaint based solely on a reporter's lack of spelling and grammar skills. And I've never been one to jump to the conclusion, with little basis for doing so, that a report is illegitimate. So I'm giving Otis the benefit of the doubt, and I would respectfully ask that you all do the same.

So Otis is the black version of David of Pasadena Maryland. He too seems to get ripped off by everyone he's ever come into contact with. And here I thought Otis was just in a substance induced haze.

I seemed to recall seeing at least one or two other reports by "Otis" here in the past, so I went searching. By simply putting the name "Detroit" in the search box, here is what I found. Otis has made 16 individual reports (that I could find) about the police, Wayne County Comm Coll, churches and dating services, to name a few. It seems that Otis has trouble getting along with society up in Detroit. I did not read each and every report, but the gist is that everyone seems to be out to get him. Otis, if you are truly having this many problems with law enforcement, school, church, etc., then it is probably high time you move away from Detroit.

It looks like it was written by a small child or an adult under the influence of mind altering drugs. I like the parts about African Americans(whatever they are) and Detroiters too. WOW! I didn't know that Detroiters are different from the rest of us. I know a white guy whose parents are from South Africa...since his ancestors are from Africa, he's an African American too I guess. He should be, since he fits the requirements. If you say no, you're a racist. I also like the part about the people in the missions and halfway houses taking up "natural resources like human services(welfare) and medical benefits(medicaid)". That's too much. One welfare bum whining about the rest! This one is even funnier than the guy complaining about the phone sex. HAHAHHA! I give it an 8. If this guy wants to clean up his community, he needs to start doing it himself. People who look to the Government to solve their problems in life are the ones who can't figure out it's time to leave when a Cat5 Hurricane is bearing down on them. It's not racial. It's poor choices. Organize a community watch program and make the bad guys leave.

Who appointed you to decide what a ripoff is?

Why would there be a "Police" complaint category if complaints about the police weren't appropriate? Don't you think that police who aren't doing their jobs are ripping off the taxpayers who pay their salaries? Wouldn't you agree that police departments are basically service organizations, and that, when the police act in a manner that is counter-productive to their public service mission, they are committing a ripoff? Sure, the original reporter is probably just some blow-hard that will never take the actual steps necessary to rectify his issues. But at least he's making his concerns public, and that's what this operation is all about.
