I purchased a standard poodle from Ms. Diane Trigani of Dgani Poodles. The dog developed a genetic disease, Addison's Disease, just before the one year date I took ownership. Florida law states the breader is to refund the Vet bills incurred in diagnosing the condition up to the purchase price of the dog. Ms. Trigani initially agreed to refund the $2000 purchase price once she had another litter for sale. When the next litter was available she failed to return my calls or emails. I had an attorney send a demand letter and she failed to respond to this as well. My only other recourse is to file a claim in small claims court due to the amount owed. I have been informed by an attorney that she will not likely attend the hearing or comply with the judgement against her and filing a claim would cost more money. I am caring for the diseased dog which is costing $160 every month for the medications necessary to keep the dog alive. This does not include further costs incurred during times the dog has had an Addision's crisis requiring further hospitalization. I am only looking to recoup my initial cost of $2000 to purchase the dog as it is my choice not to have the dog euthanized and incur the thousands of dollar it will cost during his lifetime.
