I called Direct General for auto insurance. They sent me papers to sign, which I did and mailed them back. Two weeks later I recieved 3 envelopes from Direct General on the same day. The first envelope I had my insurance cards in it, the second envelope had a letter saying my rates were being increased because I signed something I shouldn't have and the third envelope was a notice of cancellation. Well I sent them a payment of what I was quoted and got another letter of cancellation. Then they said they were going to inform the DMV that my insurance was cancelled. When I called for car insurance to another company they said my drivers license was suspended. Direct General took my money fast enough and cancelled me unfairly in my opinion. All this nonsense cost me over $600 and being on a very fixed income thats rough.
