Our account was automatically charged for the NBA league pass. Last year we ordered the pass because it was a cheap $99 deal.

This year, we were unaware that the league pass was "automatically renewed" as put by DISH's customer service agents from overseas, so we "automatically got charged" for something that we did not order.

They claim that they sent us a letter, and since we did not call them they automatically renewed the League pass for us, how thoughtful of them!

This seems unfair sneaky don't you think? How can Dish Network live with robbing people of their hard earned money?

We were charged a total of $181.90 for the NBA league pass. Nov 2006-$32.00; Dec 2006 $80.01; Jan 2008 $69.89. We did not even know we had this service so we never watched any of the games. I set up our account to auto pay because I had to do a lot of traveling and to make sure they get paid on time while I was on the road.

This seems to be a rip-off scam, I have been happy with Dish Network until today that I discovered these bills. So watch out for these scammers.

Yes that is exactly my point on your auto-renewal program. You send a piece of paper, which could have easily been lost or overlooked. We don't read every piece of mail since we signed up for paperless billing. Why not a phone call? Why did you not call us? Why do companies like you assume that the consumer automatically wants the same package for more money the year after? We did not even know that we were paying for it, we did not watch one single game!!!! All I want is a refund for services that we did not order or consume. $181.90 is a lot of money for an individual like me who makes minimum wage. If this money was taken away from you without your knowlege how would you feel? Dish Network is a corrupt company how can you defend it's policy? You know it's wrong to steal.

All premium PPV sports packages (not just NBA League Pass) have auto-renewal services. You are informed of this when adding these services, and a letter is sent to you before the beginning of the new season to allow you at least 30 days to cancel.
