Dish Network Stay away from Dish Network Pasadena California
Do not believe what you read in their ads! I am now paying more -- with fewer channels -- than I used to pay when I had cable.
1) Their so-called "America's Top 100" is just a lie. Many of these 100 channels are shopping channels, religious channels or, "Disney Channel East, Disney Channel West" -- counting as 2 channels. I no longer have Bravo, Independent Film Channel, BBC America, Women's Entertainment, etc. I do, however, have: The Men's Channel, Men's Outdoor & Recreation -- which I have absolutely no use for.
2) Their so-called $100 rebate is 10 times $10 credit.
3) The installer supposedly "hooked my TV to my phone" by programming something on a device that he had. That was just pretense. When I found out I was charged for that, I called their customer Service department; they told me my TV was not "connected" to the phone; and, since I have a DSL line, I would have to buy a special, expensive device at more than $80 (to be installed by myself, of course). Result: every month, I am hit with an extra $5.99 fee.
4) I thought they connected up to 4 TV for the same price. My 3rd TV costs me an extra $5/month.
5) I am also paying an extra $5 "programming access fee" -- whatever that is, and a $5.99 "DISH Home protection Plan". Total extra monthly fees: $21.97!
6) Without warning, they increased their monthly fee by $3.99. The contract I signed is for 18 months; I always thought that a contract cannot be changed until it is renewed!
7) As soon as my contract period is over, I will switch again to Cable TV!!
