This appears to be total fake. The only reason I can see is they can write it off and get IRS credit. I didn't owed them, why are they doing this, (for profit) or Scam. They sent me a letter last year. I called and the woman had no answers for me. Very rude. This was Sept last year. I don't owe anyone $17,021.12. I will write IRS. I will hire an Arttorney. I will file many complaints aganist them. It will cost them in the end.

If a company sends you a bogus 1099, you should contact the company and try to get this resolved asap. If you cannot get the income reported 1099 corrected, you can use the IRS Form 3949-A to notify the IRS of the error. Check OTHER with explanation in Section 5. You may download this form at--- irs..gov/pub/irs-pdf/f3949a.pdf

Who They Are

They are a mortgage lender. Any debt which is forgiven the IRS requires it to be listed as 1099 income. The lender who forgives said debt receives nothing from the IRS. They are required under FEDERAL LAW to report it via 1099. If you have never dealt with them in any fashion, you should forget trying to contact them by phone. Send them a registered letter, return receipt requested, and ask them to verify this.
