On July 1, 2002 I gave Donatucci Kitchens & Appliances (1901 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19147) $10,000 as a deposit for cabinets and appliances. The bill for these items came to $15,000. Installation was to be commence by September 1, 2002.

* Some seven months later, February 1st, 2003, I was contacted to set up an appointment for the kitchen installation. A crew was to begin work on February 5th.

I was informed that I would have to have cash or a certified check for $20,000 in order for them to deliver the appliances and cabinets. The delivery, when it came, was incomplete.

The following day, a crew of one appeared, with no proper plans or directions. I was asked to supply him with a verbal description of the planned renovations.

During the period from February 5th to March 4th the worker put in approximately 45 hours of work. The area remains unfinished, the crew having been pulled off the job.

In phone conversations with the owners of Donatucci Kitchens, I have been talked down to, belittled, and intimidated. I was told that conversations between myself and both Donatucci Sr. and Jr. had been taped and played back in the offices for the amusement of the staff.

I pleaded for someone to come over to the work site my home and go over the details of the job, hoping to solve some of the problems I was encountering. I was told to make an appointment to go to the showroom on Washington Avenue.

My kitchen remains in a gutted state, and the old appliances are still sitting in the driveway, Donatucci having failed to remove them as well.

To date Donatucci Kitchens has collected $30,000 and delivered very little. The work that has been done is not up to specification, and my attempts to solve these problems have been ignored.

I recently began construction to finish my kitchen with a reputable company. To date I have had to replace $5,500 in cabinets never received, $7,700 in appliances never received and $18,000 in construction costs everything that had previously been paid for to Donatucci Kitchens; they also sued me for making disparaging remarks against them and for the $8,000 balance due on the original contract. Both claims were withdrawn in court on May 1, 2003 11 months later I still do not have a Kitchen!
