First of all, I have nothing to do with DriveTime.  I know about loans though.

From your post, it sounds like you are not familiar with how the auto loan industry works.  Brief highlights:  the lower your credit score, the higher the down payment you have to put down and the higher the interest rate charged to you.  If you have bad credit, then these types of lenders won't even allow you to buy, you have to 'lease to own' the car. DriveTime specializes in consumers with bad credit. These types of deals are bad deals for the consumer.  The rates are very high because the risk is high to the lender.

Spend some time learning about credit and debt so you can improve your score. This way you can purchase a vehicle from a legitimate type source that doesn't just handle bad credit loans.  Once you learn about credit and debt and improve your score, you will be able to get a loan through a credit union and pay much less interest and lower payments.

The thing is - you also have to take responsibility for the maintenance of the vehicle. When you buy a vehicle, you have to maintain the vehicle at your expense. You can't call up the lender and say you want to change payment dates for X reason. The loan has nothing to do with the maintenance of the vehicle.

Do some research. Your post shows you have a lot to learn about owning a vehicle. Learn the right way from professionals and not those around you as they have been giving you the wrong guidence. (This is gleaned from your post). Good luck.
