EA Health - equal Access Health billed more money than was told doctors were not in-network that they said were in-netork no hospitalization coverage even though we were paying for it Arlington Texas
Joined EA Health on March 11, 2004. Debra was who signed us up. We thought we had asked all the questions was could ask but boy were we wrong. First off, she quoted us $79 per month inlcuding hospitalization well, once we joined, we found out that there wasn't even a hospital in our area or within 50 miles of where we live. That is after we had point blank asked her which of the 2 major hospitals in our area were covered by them. She needless to say lied.
Then after repeatedly asking her about which physicians were on the plan, all of ours seemed to be, then we decided to join. After only 2 days, I had to take my 2 children to the doctors office for illness and well everything went smoothly or at least i thought it did, i had no co-pay there. I thought this was wonderful. Well 2 days ago (after 3 weeks on the plan) we recieved 2 bills from the Pediatricians offce for $88 each. They only paid $20 for each child. Then come to find out, the other 2 doctors we had specifically asked about were not even on their plan.
My husband called the company to complain about this lies and all they could say was we are sorry she must have made a mistake. Well she also made a mistake in telling us it was $79 per month instead of $89 per month. BIG MISTAKE. Needless to say as of this writing, we are cancelling with this company due to their lies and deceitfulness. I can only hope that this will help someone else out there before they make a big mistake also.
Just so you know, they are not an insurance company but a physicians network. All claims go through the Capella Group in Arlington Texas and PHCS is what appears on their network cards. They are a big scam.....you can see their website at www.equalhealth.com
