Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I purchased a 2003 Ford Explorer from Easterns Auto Mall in Frederick, Maryland in, or about January 2006. I first went in looking for a SUV and I was told I was qualified to purchase the 2003 Ford Explorer that I ended up purchasing. The require you to purchase a 24 month / 24,000 mile warranty when you buy a car from them. The 24 month / 24,000 mile warranty is through an outside warranty company...mine is through GE. They are also required by law to give you a 30 day / 1,000 mile warranty from the day of purchase.

A few days after purchasing my 2003 Ford Explorer I felt a very bad vibration / shutter in the drive train every time you accelerate from being stopped. I instantly returned the vehicle to Easterns in Frederick,MD regarding the problem and I was told to take it to the dealer and it would be covered under the 24 month / 24,000 mile warranty. I told them this falls under the 30 day / 1,000 mile warranty and they said that the 24 month / 24,000 mile warranty would cover it...but why should the other warranty company have to pay for their problem...it doesnt become the outside warranty company's problem until after the 30 days/ or 1,000 miles.

After several arguments they finally agreed to look at my 2003 Ford Explorer themselves, and gave me a rental vehicle through Enterprise at their cost. All together they had my vehicle over a month...They would call me every week or two and say it was fixed and I would go to pick it up and everytime I went to pick it up the problem wasnt fixed. They said they were having it fixed in Waldorf, Maryland. They furnished my receipts, which turned out to be fake receipts from a shop that they deal with in Waldorf, Maryland. The one recepit read that they replaced the Transfer Case and the other recepit read that they replaced the entire rear end.

The problem never ended up being fixed through them and I had to go through the outside warranty company. When I took my 2003 Ford Exlorer to the Ford dealer and had them daignose the problem they said that the Transfer Case and rear end were both original and have never been replaced or rebuilt. The problem ended up being the clutch packs in the rear end. I contacted them several times and never got anyplace with them. I had to pay a $200 deductible when I had it fixed through the warranty company.

I WOULD ADVISE ANYBODY NOT TO PURCHASE ANY VEHICLE THROUGH EASTERNS AUTO MALL...NOT ONLY FREDERICK, YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO. ALSO, THEIR SLOGAN "YOUR JOB IS YOUR CREDIT" IS A BUNCH OF BULL SH*T ALSO. PLEASE TAKE MY ADVISE, STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM EASTERNS AUTOMOTIVE AS YOU CAN!

THANK YOU!!

I love Easterns! Unlike you, I had a spectacular experience with them for 3 different car purchases. Their slogan "Your Job is Your Credit" is true. Thankfully, it worked for me and since then, my credit is so fly that I can go anywhere and get a good deal on a car loan but I still choose to go with Easterns b/c they helped me when no oneelse would. Why didn't you want to contact the other warranty company if they were going to send you to the dealer to get it fixed. As much as I love Easterns, I would have totally opted to have my car checked by the original dealer. The reason why Ford was able to diagnose the problem so well is probably because many of their Explorers are experiencing the same issue. Heck new cars are recalled all the time. Why would expect to not have any problems at all knowing that your car was owned by someelse previously too. Anyways, I'm sorry that your experience wasn't so great with them but mine was quite the contrary. They say when someelse has a bad experience, they tell at least 10 people but when someone has a great experience, they tell no one. I just thought I'd break the rules today and share my great experience with you - the first of 10 people that I plan to tell.
