My apartment was brand new when I moved into it. I only lived in it for 4 of my 6 month lease. When I vacated my apartment, it was SPOTLESS and every item on the Eaton Village Cleaning List was performed, including cleaning the base moldings on the floor, cleaning out the tracks of the sliding glass door & wiping every wire shelf in the closets.

Because I did not do a Walk Through Inspection with Ms. Marci Coombs before my vacating of my apartment, I was liable for any and all items that they deemed unacceptable as being cleaned.

I was charged $100 to have a cleaning service spend 7 hours cleaning my already spotless and "in brand new condition." apartment. According to Ms. Coombs, "It is the law for us to re-clean your apartment because as far as we know, you could have cleaned the apartment with toilet water,"

I was also charged $45.00 to have my carpet disenfected after it was professionally cleaned. Accoring to Ms. Coomgs, "It is the law that whenever you have a pet in the apartment, the carpet must also be disenfected after cleaning."

Also, I was charged to have my apartment walls repainted since the paint that they provided me to touch up the 5 patched nail holes didn't match the paint that was already on the walls. And it matched perfectly.

She claimed that the tracks of my sliding glass door were dirty (I cleaned them with a Q-Tip and Windex) and that the wire closet racks were dirty (these weren't even dusty after only being used for 4 months, and I wiped them down with Windex and a towel). According to what can be legally considered for withholding my deposit, to charge me for the tracks of my sliding glass door and the wire racks in my closet, were not justifible to withhold my cleaning deposit.

I have two separate witnesses who will testify that my apartment was left as clean as the day that I moved in, and my apartment was brand new when I moved in.

When confronted with a phone call, a physical meeting and finally a letter to Ms. Coombs asking her to justify her illegal remarks and to have my illegally withhelf funds sent to me, she immediately sent out a letter changing her story of "It is the law," and made false allegations as to why my apartment wasn't left as I and my two witnesses stated it was, which was spotless.

I would like to get together with past residents who have also had their security deposit illegally withheld and file a class action law suit. Anyone else interested?
