Ebay specifically states on their auction rules and scam alerts to NEVER send money via Western Union as it is always a scam. Also, I'm unsure why you would get notified via Square Trade. Square Trade is Ebays problem resolution center and you should only have gotten something from them if there was a complaint filed for resolution. What likely happened is they copied the graphics from an Ebay email and changed the text to tellyou to send it to Western Union. But this isn't Ebays or Square Trades fault as Ebay specifically states NOT to use Western Union. If you bought this properly through Ebay, file a complaint with them

You are a victim of a scam. The scammer is the lister NOT ebay. Wetern Union is NOT an acceptable form of payment as far as ebay is concerned so you can't really blame ebay for that. Check out the discussion boards on Ebay they have posts that explain scams. Research acceptable payment forms on the ebay site - they clearly tell you that they are not responsible nor are you covered for buyer protection if you don't use the correct forms of payment. Check the listing before you bid - if it tells you to contact the seller thru email not the contact a member button - it is a scam. If it tells you to wire them the money - it is a scam. If the price is too good to be true - it is a scam.
