Our team reached out to Ruth Jensen, the person in charge of Event Sales at Eclipse Theaters about booking our movie, which recieved rave reviews at film festivals, has won awards, and recently acquired distribution. Ruth looked at the trailer and poster of our movie and said the movie seemed exceptionally strong and that Eclipse Theaters was very interested in booking the movie for a 3 week run, but said she had to talk it over with her team. A couple days later we touched base with Ruth again and she again told us she had discussed the movie with her team and they were very interested in booking the movie, but said one of the owners was just coming back from vacation tomorrow and she had to get final approval, but assured us it looked promising and promised us she'd get in touch with us in a day or two. 3 days later... nothing. We called. We emailed. 8 days later... still nothing. Ruth Jensen lead us on and promised to get back to us and never did. Ruth Jensen didn't have the decency to return an email or any of our 3 calls we made to her requesting a status update. After promissing us she'd reach out to us, she didn't have the decency to take 30 seconds to write an email or make a phone call.

The experience was surprising and baffling to us since Ruth Jensen had originally talked such a big game and assured us Eclipse was interested and so we reached out to other filmmakers in the community and found out that Eclipse Theaters has a history of this flaky and inconsiderate behavior. I touched base with a woman who runs a local film festival in Vegas where our movie recently won an award and the woman who runs the film festival told me she recently reached out to Eclipse Theaters as well to see if they would be interested in hosting her film festival, which showcases African American cinema.

Since Eclipse theater owner Nic Steele is African American, she thought he might be interested in supporting the black community. Nic told her he was interested, so the festival director spent hours preparing a proposal for Nic Steele and then tried to contact him. Nothing. She tried several more times. Nothing. No calls back. No emails. Not even a secretary called her.

The sad part is, the festival director sought Nic out in the first place because the film festival she runs is a festival showcasing African American cinema and Nic is African American, so she thought this could be a chance for Nic to bring together and support the African American community he is part of, but sadly Nic wasn't interested in doing that. He also wasn't interested in taking 30 seconds to make a phone call or write an email to this poor woman who spent hours putting a proposal together for him.

Actions always speak louder than words and the actions of Eclipse Theater employees indicates the following:

--They are flaky

--They are selfish

--They are unprofessional

--They don't care about the community or helping the community

--They talk and don't deliver

Professionals return phone calls, whether the news they have to impart is good or bad. Nic Steele and Ruth Jensen couldn't be bothered to do that, but the word is spreading quickly in the Las Vegas filmmaking community and their inconsiderate behavior will soon catch up with them.
