El Dorado Furniture Ripoff and take advantage of the Elderly deliver defective furniture and refuse to refund money Pembroke Pines Florida
In September 2004 my sick elderly parents brought nearly $6000.00 worth of furniture at El Dorado because the salesman did a pretty good snow job convincing them that they were getting top quality pieces. Well that was a load of bull s...!
The china cabinet was poorly constructed and the hutch tilts forward, so you cannot put anything in it. One of the chairs to the dinning set is missing all the screws; unfortunately we didn't find out about that until my father's nurse sat on it and of course the seat fell off sending the nurse crashing to the floor (can we say law suit). Upon further examination of the furniture we found a number of poorly patched chips, nicks and dings on the dinning room table and the china cabinet We called the store in Pembroke Pines were the furniture was purchased and advised them of the problems and asked that the dinning room set and the china cabinet be replaced. Every day for almost 2 weeks they told us they would be delivering the new replacement pieces... that never happened.
We had had enough! I accompanied my father down to the store and he demanded a refund for the damaged furniture and told them to come and pick them up. We got a written refund request from the store stating that my parents would receive the refund in 2 weeks (although it was paid by Credit Card and it would have been simple to credit the card for the refund amount).
Two (2) MONTHS later dispite numerous phone calls and visits to the store my me and my sister, my parents still have not received thier refund and El Dorado still has not pick-up the damaged furniture. It is obvious to us that the only way we will get my parents money back is to sue El Dorado.
This whole situation has caused my father a great deal of unnecessary stress and as a result he has been admitted to the hospital several times over that past month and my mother is now also starting to feel the affects of this neverending saga.
It amazes me that Mr. Pedor Capo founder and COO of El Dorado can sleep at night knowing that his Company and employees knowingly mistreat and take advantage of his elderly customers; But then again I'm sure nothing happens in his stores that he is not fully aware of. I guess they are hoping my parents will die before this gets resolved; however I assure you I am more than prepared to fight this battle for them.
I wonder if The National Home Furnishing Association was aware of Mr. Capo's company practatices prior to electing him as their new President in January 2003. Upon his appointment to office he said that "the task of the association for the years to come will be to help retailers do a better job in their business." How can he do this when his own business does such a poor job when it comes to the customer and customer satisfaction.
Mr. Capo is case you forgot, rule #1 Your Customer's are your business, without them you have nothing!!! Your customers are the ones that helped you build your business in the first place and if you want to continue to grow it's your customers that will make that happen; unless of course you want to have several warehouses full of damaged furniture with nowhere to go.
