Lack of Databases Makes It Impossible to Know Who To Call or Not To Call

#2UPDATE Employee

Sun, April 22, 2012

I am recently employed with Eliot Management Group and have come across this complaint several times.  Here's the truth:

EMG employees receive a list of potential business clients from a third-party website every day for us to "cold call".  Unfortunately, EMG does not have any type of database themselves that keeps us from calling people too often or letting us know when a merchant has requested to not be on our lists.

We do not have control over the lists that we call, is what I'm saying.  My suggestion to anyone that has come across this issue is this:  Get your number/business registered on the national Do Not Call list.  If you are already on the Do Not Call List, then contact the third party sales generator websites (like SalesGenie.com, which is the list generator that my office uses) and make sure they do not have you listed as a customer to call.  If this still does not solve your problem, then please find a way to contact the Do Not Call Registry and find out what else you can do.

Please try to understand that we sales reps do not have any way to know who has requested to never be contacted by us.  I understand that it is annoying to receive calls from a company over and over again, despite requesting to be left alone, but we are unable to do anything about this.  We get our lists, we have to make our calls (our quota is 100 calls every day!) and chances are we're going to call the same person more than once.

I apologize to anyone that has experienced this problem with us, and I hope that you can forgive the individual representatives who have called.  We're doing the best we can with what we have, which unfortunately is not very much.

As for those sales reps you have spoken to who are rude or unprofessional, this is the individual's problem and you should complain to their superior (if you can get a hold of them, which honestly isn't very easy to do.)  Try calling the local office that called you and request to speak to the DSM or District Sales Manager.  That might get you through...  Then just tell that DSM that "sales rep Mike" or whatever their name is was very rude.  I can't promise that this will take care of any future problems, but I can hope that you get appropriate help.

Good luck!
