I can't believe what I'm reading as responses, BY THE OWNER RENE, to a particular complaint on here. I'm glad I looked them up on Rip Off Reports because I was going to go there this weekend to look at a car until now. Rene made a comment about "receiving rewards from the Better Business Bureau for outstanding customer service." HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! He's OUT RIGHT LYING IN BLACK AND WHITE! After reading that I went to BBB.org to look them up, come to find out, they ARE NOT EVEN BBB MEMBERS and they have 15 COMPLAINTS IN 36 MONTHS! That's nearly 1 complaint every other month for the past 3 years. Just so you all know, their complaint history consists of CUSTOMER SERVICE ISSUES, ADVERTISING ISSUES (they ADVERTISE AS BEING BBB MEMBERS WHEN THEY'RE NOT and who knows what else is wrong with their advertising), CONTRACT ISSUES, BILLING OR COLLECTION ISSUES, SALES PRACTICE ISSUES, DELIVERY ISSUES, WARRANTY ISSUES, PRODUCT ISSUES, AND REFUND ISSUES. Yeah, BBB is going to award a business with all these issues! YOU LIE! THANK YOU RIP OFF REPORT FOR SAVING MY TIME!

I worked with Rene and his dad at Ferman Chrysler. They both got fired along with 3 other business managers.

Yes, I did not address the issue of the lying of the dealer...and I should have. But you did EXACTLY THE RIGHT THING by walking out and taking your business elsewhere. This board is loaded with example after example of how someone knew for a fact the dealer was lying (just like you did!) and they simply played doormat and rewarded the con-artist by giving them their business (just like you DID NOT do!). I must commend you for your intelligence, for your business sense and how you thought so much of yourself that you weren't about to reward someone who already showed you what they were all about. The thrust of my first reply was indeed educational, in that, so many people place the BBB on a pedestal and look to them as some sort of consumer god which has your best interest in mind. Reality is the BBB is in BUSINESS to SELL memberships and SELL accreditations to ANYONE who has the money. I didn't want to pass the opportunity up to inform you about the REAL story behind the BBB. Again, I must COMMEND you for your actions. Everybody who reads this should use your response as an example. We don't need any car dealer...they need us! If they won't treat us with 100% honesty and integrity, then WE WALK OUT!

Thank you for the lesson on the BBB. I was not aware of any of that nor do I know if what you're saying is true, BUT you seem to be missing my point. If what you're saying is true, that's fine, but consumers still refer to the BBB for information about business' and individuals. I highly doubt they make these complaints up against business'. THAT was my point about Elite. I would not have even checked the BBB if it wasn't mentioned in one of their updates. My question is....WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU LIE ABOUT BEING A MEMBER AND GETTING AWARDS FROM THE BBB when it isn't true. If I hadn't read that, I would have never checked. It did make up my mind NOT TO GO THERE anyway. Despite what or who the BBB really is. Truth of the matter is the business OWNER in discussion LIED. I ended up buying a car somewhere else over the weekend and I love it. I had a great experience, so I'm happy. That's all that matters.

Forget the BBB! They SELL 'Accreditations' To Anyone!

Please, do NOT put any importance on the BBB. To become a 'member' of the BBB you must PAY for it...exactly the same way someone can BUY a phoney college degree. The BBB won't endorse any business 'as a matter of policy' as they say. Why? Because they know the 'accreditation' is nothing more than a bought and sold commodity. Their so-called 'mediation' program in case you get conned by one of their 'members' is nothing more than a sham. Their 'member' is their source of income...their customer. The 'mediator' is an employee of the BBB. Their employee won't be an employee long if they decide their customer is a con artist. The BBB is part of the problem. THe public may think they are a noble and worthwhile agency...reality is they SELL 'accreditations' to anyone who has the money and I mean ANYONE. They will provide the public with tons and tons of useless information (which is readily available elsewhere) as a "snow job" to make it look like they are so above board. Also, the BBB is NOT...repeat IS NOT part of the government...they have ZERO law enforcement powers, they can't force the con artist to do anything. They call themselves a 'bureau' to con you into thinking otherwise. Of course, they refer to themselves as 'the bureau' just like the FBI does. Come on BBB....tell me how wrong I am. YOU DON'T HAVE THE GUTS!
