emachines supposed rebate false promises Irvine California
This is just to let you know that emachines practice of not honoring rebates goes back a couple of years.
I purchased an emachine with a (supposed) rebate back in 1999, I filled out my rebate info and took it to work to mail out. I work at a mail processing center for the U.S. postal service. I even had an employee hand stamp and send my mail out.
About two months later I received a post card from emachines stating that my rebate could not be honored because of the postmark!! But yet they didn't say what my postmark supposedly was.
I called the number on the postcard and was told that they didn't keep records of the postmarks so therefore, since i couldn't prove what my postmark was...NO REBATE.
The kicker to this is...the exact same thing happened to my mother about the same time. Neither one of us received our rebates for the exact same reason.
We've also heard from others that they know people who had the same happen to them.
DO NOT TRUST EMACHINES!!
