Yes they did cooperate with the police, but I wouldn't have expected anything less. The manager didnt' come to my house, the crew "manager" for lack of a better term came back to my house. He was the only guy there that day who spoke English. I feel that they should be responsible for the people that they bring into thier customer's homes. As a customer I trusted them to bring individuals in that they trusted and whom they had done a background check on . They don't even know this guys address. Customer service has not contacted me again and it has been over a month since the incident. I don't feel that they have done all that they should have. They should be touching base with me, etc. I think that they should have offered me reimbursment by now also. And with legal involved, they should be trying to stay out of court, but they aren't doing such a good job of it.

First, let me say that it sucks that you had items stolen from you. Based on your complaint, however, I would gauge that Empire is a reputable operation that DOES care about customers. The Empire manager actually came back to your house and fully cooperated with the police during this unfortunate ordeal? Once you called the police, Empire's lawyers would have had to become involved and at that point neither the manager nor the customer service representatives would have been allowed to give you any information other than, we are going to cooperate with the police. It's good to know that they actually gave you good service on your carpet for a good price and you were satisfied. If you would have hired another company, they likely would have picked up the same guy that stole your stuff to do the work. Most contractors and contractor type business (and restaurants, landscapers, movers, etc) hire day laborers. I think it actually says a lot about Empire that they are willing to work with the police to find the actual culprit.
