I hired Empire Today in September do put in new hardwood floors in my kitchen and living room. They assured me there was a warranty for normal wear and tear. Within one month, me and my family noticed chips in the wood and scratches in the floor. I called Empire and advised them that there was chips and scratches in my BRAND new floor that I spent a lot of money on. They sent over two men to look at it and draft a report regarding the damages. A few days later I called Empire again saying there are TWO more chips in the wood. They told me that someone would be calling me back regarding the damages to my brand new floor. Finally, today I get a call back and they said that in order to fix the chips it would cost me $2,900!!!
The company responded back to my complaint stating "Damage to the flooring post-installation is not covered by warranty."
If damages after the floor is installed is not covered under warranty then What good is the warranty. Its very misleading. The rep on the phone also said that i had childrens toys in the living room so "something had to have dropped". That basically means if you have kids or a family then the floors will not hold up past 6 weeks without chipping.
After many back and forth calls with the business they still want thousands to fix these newly installed floors that appear to be made of soft wood and not durable enough to even last two months without chipping after i spent THOUSANDS for a brand new floor. I feel completely scammed.
