Enterprise Rent A Car ripoff Hicksville New York
In February of 2004, I rented a car from enterprise. As I am a very frequent renter from the Hicksville, New York location, I had a weekend special for 19.99. I picked the car up on a Saturday. They usually take a hold of 200.00 on my debit card.
When it came time to return the car on Monday, I found out by checking my account that my mortgage check bounced!!! I had an extra 350.00 hold that someone went into the computer and took off my credit card !!! When I called Enterprise, the representative told me that the person who did it was not in that day and that they needed to speak to him to find out why. The representative didn't even know why it was done because it shows that my rental in total was for two days and it came to no more than 60-80.00 in all.
OK, so I call back the next day and I hear the manager in the background saying, look, just tell her it was a mistake and that's it! Hang up the phone!!! I nearly flipped out!!! NO, that's NOT IT!!! My mortgage check bounced and you've gotta come way better than that.
I called the District Manager and eventually, we worked out a compensation called "A free weekend" - I have since rented again but not from that particular location. Now I noticed that they are not listing the 19.99 specials anymore. I think I'm about to take my business elsewhere.
