Enterprise Rent-A-Car Enterprise Insurance Coverage Ripoff Misleading about actual cost Little Rock Arkansas
Enterprise Rent-A-Car likes to encourage consumers to purchase their insurance coverage because they claim that if you just use your own insurance company and you get a door ding or nick in the windshield you will have to pay your deductible and they claim this would be more expensive than what they charge for their coverage.
We rented a car from this location this past weekend (5-21-04) and fell into this trap. The sales clerk told us "Our policy is ONLY $13.00 and it covers EVERYTHING". He then said "I don't know why anyone wouldn't use our coverage because it's ONLY $13.00." Even though we had great insurance, we thought the $13.00 was a better deal, because we asked him if it covered everything.. and yes, he said "Everything." So he had us initial in four spots and led us to believe that since our warranty on the car in the shop would be paying for the rental, we were only going to be out $ for the gas we use and the $13.00.
My husband turned the car back in today, and lo and behold, the $13.00 charge is $13.00 PER DAY!!!! And it says it in the very fine print, so yes we signed it, BUT WAS ENTERPRISE DECEPTIVE about the final cost?? YES! So, watch out. Read the fine print, especially with Enterprise. They will screw you over if they can.
