Enterprise Holdings, the parent company of Alamo, Entgerprise, and National Car Rental has an inconsistent Pet Policy. Please Read Below:
Pet Policy:
The pet policy varies by location and the customer should contact the branch directly to verify their policy. Not all locations allow pets.
If pets are allowed in the vehicles and the car cannot be cleaned by normal prep process, which requires the branch to outsource a detail service or if damage is caused, the cost will be passed on to the customer.
Excessive pet hair, soiling or damage caused by animals will result in extra charges.
I ask who makes the decision to discriminate against pet owners and who decides to allow pet owners to rent vehicles?
I spoke to customer service at Enterprise Customer Service and they said that pets are OK. Now according to the following person:
Mitch Bussone |
Social Monitoring Coordinator Customer Care Team at 1-800-264-6350. |
each branch determines its own pet policy. Sounds pretty discriminatory to me.
Why do they need a Social Monitoring Coordinator? I guess they are so worried about the complaints they are getting about their policies that someone has to watch what John Q. Public is saying about them.

Al, we know that pets are part of your family too and that's why domesticated animals are allowed in our vehicles. Excessive pet hair, soiling or damage caused by animals may result in extra charges and cleaning fees. We'd be happy to further discuss this with you. Please email [email protected] with the exact rental location, rental agreement or reservation numbers and your contact information. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
