I rented a car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car on 550 Turk St, San Francisco. I had previously rented a car with Enterprise and they tried to blame existing damage on me (eventually they dropped the case), so I was extremely suspicious. I identified scratches and dents, but the representative wouldn't write any down stating only "golf size ball dents" are of concern. She said they are only concerned with major damage to the car.
Upon return of the car, they find a minor scratch and file a vehicle accident report. They refused to write down the scratch when I identified it, and all of a sudden it is considered "car damage". They refuse to acknowledge my original comments and suddenly "cannot remember" who helped me out originally.
Conor Kirkpatrick at Enterprise on Turk Street is our contact now and has been totally unhelpful. His boss, Sharona (sp?), specifically told me on the phone today that Enterprise isn't blaming us for any damage, but how do they explain the $700 that was charged to our credit card within hours????
An online search will reveal many examples of this type of scam, with varying details. There is a possible class action lawsuit pending for this. Be extremely cautious if you ever rent from Enterprise.
