Ethel Robbins was a fake name used by a craigslist ad and ended up being a scam. She offered up her dead daughters apartment for a really low price in Phoenix, Arizona The ad and her seemed legit because she asked for a rental application, verification, and was in constant communication with me. She said she was a woman a good faith and God so I believe her to be true. Even when I looked up the apartment on Google maps, the Internet, and also called the complex condo to see if this place is really for rent all the information checked out so I thought everything was real and going smoothely. Just to doublecheck I looked up her lawyers name and address that she provided on her "application", and I also tried to find her on Facebook and I couldn't find her, or her lawyers information anywhere on the Internet so I assumed that this had to be fake, the lawyer was fake, and the application was fake.

Another thing that caught my attention was when we were texting back-and-forth I asked her if she could give me a call so we can talk about the details of the apartment and she stated that she cannot talk on the phone, only text, because she lost her voice after her daughter's accident , which I thought was a little unusual. The last thing that really caught my attention to snoop up on her and check her out was that she asked if I could send the money the very next day to a Walmart money gram and then she would send me in return the keys to the apartment to go check it out myself, but she was very persistent and seemed to want the money very eagerly so I thought something was off . I kept insisting to call her lawyer and send the money to her lawyer instead since she was out of the area (in Georgia she claimed) since it seemed more convenient, or to just send the money thru venmo. She really really wanted it through Walmart I told my mom about it and she continued to do more research on this listing and this is how we found out that Ethel Robbins was a scam artist.

We found another person who reported her on this same website for ripping them off to a place in Georgia for an apartment that she lied about. She also used the "dead daughter" story on this person too. Thankfully I never sent the money to her and I didn't proceed with the apartment process. I do not know if her phone number was real or not. Her email seemed to be real and she was seem to communicate as a real woman. Be careful

I'm currently in contact with "Ethel Robbins" as I type this.

She has used the same story, as far as the daughter and her husband accident. I became sceptical as soon as she mentioned doing the entire process through the mail, and she used the same excuse. I asked to call, and she seemed to become very agitated and explained that she lost her voice due to the incident. I then told her I have a friend who is willing to look at the apartment for my fiance and I since we are trying to move 24 hours away from where we are currently, and she again seemed to get agitated and exclaimed that the pictures sent along with the "form" should have been enough, so there was no need to view the apartment.

Her rude demeanor and all-around non willingness to do things the proper way threw up several red flags, which in turn led to me searching the name being used: Ethel Robbins.

I then came across this page. She's using the same story on everybody.
