First of all before I booked my stay I called and confirmed with Eddie If I could bring my dog and was told that was no problem. I drove 4 hours and upon arriving Eddie informed me my dog could not come inside the house. My dog was to either sleep outside with the bears or sleep inside their garage. It was August so the temperature was nearing 100F. I
did not want ruin my stay and be difficult so I inspected the garage.

The garage had about 20 bats and spider webs everywhere. On top of this there were tools and chemicals a dog could easily get harmed with. I tried to explain to Eddie that this must be a misunderstanding as I had confirmed with him beforehand however he insisted that no one else complains about these conditions for their dog and that I Was the
problem!! I abrutly left after this. His idea of acceptable is what other people call animal abuse. Don't come here if you have a dog or have any special requirements or frankly just care for the well being ofanimals.

Bring your pet, but be reasonable

I visited Evergreen Haus in July 2012, and it was the weekend before the guest here visited.  I know this because the owner of the Bread and Breakfast(Eddy), told me that his in laws would be arriving a week after we left.  I also visited took my dog along with my two kids and wife, and although the policy clearly stated no pets - Eddy allowed us to keep our dog in the garage.  The garage was attached to the house, and it was extremely clean - no bats or chemicals.  The garage was not hot despite the temperature outside being near triple digits.  My dog is a very tiny chiwawa that my daughters and I had rescued from the pound only a week prior to us going on vacation, and my two little girls (ages 9 and 11) could not leave her behind.  The owner told us that he did not allow dogs in the house because of liability issues, and it was perfectly understandable since in a B & B you share a kitchen with other families or guest.  Some people don't want dogs running around their home while on vacation.  The bottom line is that Evergreen Haus is a terrific place to enjoy nature and we definitely will visit again - with our dog.
