Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Back in September I signed up to get my credit reports with ExperianDirect though one of thier free credit report alias.  A few months later, my wife who pays the bills found that we were being charged over $21 per month from this company since last September (5 months).  I obviously did not read all the terms and conditions of my "free credit report".  But I believe that something like this should be made to stand out on its own, not buried in fine print.  It should be against the law if it already isn't.  If that is illegal, they should be fined and made to reimbuse people like me who never used their monitoring service and was charged every month.

I called their customer service and got them to agree to cancel my sevice.  I asked them to refund the money, but they told me they could not do that.  I then asked them for an address where I could send a complaint letter to.  After that I was told they would waive the last month's fee.  That's as far as I've gotten.  If they do not cancel my service and I still get charged, I will update this report.

It's really Pathetic that Experian is resorting to scamming it's customer's to make a dime

Look we all know how deceptive many companies can be on the internet sneaking in hidden reoccurring charges the moment you sign up for something simple, free, or low cost. This is a given that when you deal with shady internet companies you have never heard of that you have to be especially careful because they will try to swindle you out of money. We check the BBB and look up things like this first. What we (as a consumer do not expect) is that companies with a trusted name (people rely on Experian to have integrity and hope that they report accurate information) Now to note a company relied on by so many is using deceptive internet practices to ensnare unsuspecting customers into getting swindled out of reoccurring charges with hidden fine print that they will never see. Again would this be a web site for bob's used cars maybe I'd have looked around more carefully but I would expect a company like Experian to have some level of INTEGRITY which this shows they obviously DO NOT!!!

Anyone using Experian I implore you to heed this warning they WILL RIP YOU OFF and if you call them they WILL TELL YOU TOUGH LUCK just like the juvenile response in this post. To all financial institutions that use Experian I urge you to consider they type of company that you are trusting here, if they are resorting to swindling money from unsuspecting people on the internet via misleading offers, then when called on it refuse to refund it (I've never seen a reputable company actually refuse to refund questionable money) what other unethical tacticts does this company resort to??? READ the BBB revues not complaints 99% are all about this tactic

So YOU did not read the terms of service and somehow MAGICALLY its all thier fault for YOUR mistake. How does that work exactly?? The information is RIGHT THERE on thier website. Did no resposible adult ever tell you that there is no free lunch?? This is NOT thier fault for YOUR inability to READ!!!! Get over it and accept that YOU made a mistake and move on with your life. The only entity that screwed YOU is YOU. Isnt it amazing that YOU as a supposed responsible adult sit there and post a negative post because YOU SCREWED UP!! Its ALWAYS someone elses fault. When are people like you going to accept that YOU ARE NOT PERFECT? Ok you made a mistake by not reading the information presented to you. Its understandable. But to basically post a LIE on what is by definition a MEDIA OUTLET, only goes to show that you are not as MATURE as you should be and not as SMART as you think yourself to be.

I will educate you since this appears to be a problem for you. The WEB is a media outlet. ANYTHING you post you can be held accountable for. Especially when you are posting LIES!!! In essence you screwed yourself by not reading the information presented to you at the time of your initial sign up, but you NOW compound the issue by making a false post. Its called SLANDER, DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER, CHARACTER ASSASSINATION. These are all very serious crimes and they can make you pay for them for the rest of your existance. And you cant bankruptcy your way out of it. So in the future READ!!! And refrain from making false reports because you can be sued.

By not calling and cancelling you willingly agreed to the terms of service. You basically signed a contract with them and now you are in default of said contract. You can probably expect a ETF as well. They dont like it when you sue ignorance as an excuse to cancel. In contract law as in regular law ignorance of the law is no defence.
