WARNING: If something breaks/goes wrong they will be rude, agressive, and accuse you for the damage. They'll pretend they are going to resolve the issue then waste your time. They only have limited liability insurance and can't offer any sort of help. Be warned!

I originally posted a review on yelp back at the beginning of June after having used Express Home Moving. While they originally appeared to have done a great job I discovered a day or two later (I wasn't living at the new house due to lack of water and internet) that my $600 smart TV had been damaged in the move. I believe this to have been an unfortunate accident and felt I was pretty calm and respectful about the issue. That said, the events following this incident showed the type of customer service Express Home Moving will really give you if something happens to go wrong.

After originally emailing about the issue - in which I explained my first step was to see if it was covered under my warranty they were relatively nice and respectful. But once I emailed back explaining that is wasn't covered under warranty due to it being from physical damage they didn't reply for over a week. That was when I posted my first yelp review as it didn't seem they wanted to help me correct the issue. It wasn't until after I posted the review that Ray called me with excuses and told me "not to damage the name of his company." I called and emailed him back agreeing to take the review down while we attempted to resolve the issue.

Ray asked me to get a quote for him of the cost of repairs. I attempted to do this but Best Buy doesn't do this practice - and they were the ones who inspected the TV originally. Best Buy went above and beyond and sent me an email from an official bestbuy email about the cost of the part and labor but was unable to provide something on a professional letterhead, as they don't have any. Ray continued to insist he needed this piece of paper, I explained multiple times this was an impossible thing to provide. In going back and forth Ray began to get agressive and rude. Here are a few snippets from his emails to me:

"My insurance company will not proceed without the current valuation of your TV that has now been discontinued and as mentioned an actual BEST BUY geek squad invoice. Please understand that you paid $480 for a move that is normally $900+ dollars, not to mention the 3rd floor. To go off this email at nearly $500 is giving you a free move, and it just doesn't work that way."

I explained that

1. The TV was less than a year old, and technology is constantly being improved and the fact the TV is discontinued had nothing to do with anything.

2. If he had quoted me $900 I never would have used his service - I got several other quotes for other companies around the same pricing and went with his company due to them being a referral from a friend (which he did not know until after the move was completed).

3. I wasn't asking for HIM to pay out of pocket. His insurance should cover the accidental damage.

He continued to request the quote from Best Buy - he also began to question the damage to the TV. I invited him to come view the tv himself and take photos and also to accompany me to Best Buy to explain they couldn't get him a quote. He refused both opportunites. Since Best Buy was no longer an option I called every TV Repair place in town and it turns out most of them don't do quotes for repairs, and the few that do charge a fee to look at the TV and give a quote. I explained this to Ray - he then took over a week to reply. I had to email him again to ask what he'd like to do next.

He finally got back to me and told me his insurance would only offer $0.60 per pound for the damaged tv - so what? Like $6? He then moved forward to accuse me of breaking my own TV saying my photos weren't of the same damage. See snipped from email below:

" The only conclusion that I can come to is A-you damaged your own Tv or B-With it being discontinued obviously it may have been defective. I watched my guy carry your Tv and I personally strapped it in. I will no longer be moving LCD TV's due to this situation. The only solution I can offer once again is 60 cents per pound of your TV for limited liability insurance."

I'm now out a less than 7 month old $600 smart TV and have been provided the worlds worst customer service despite my calm and understanding demeanor. Don't use this company unless your willing to take the risk.

I'd like to just follow up on a few claims by Ray.

1. I was never attempting to extort money from a hard working family man. I simply wanted him to place a claim with his insurance company to cover damages caused during the move.

2. My place was not gross or disgusting. The way he talks makes it sound like he walked into a meth lab. I post daily photos on Instagram. Following up to the move you can see photos of everything packed and set into different piles nicely in the living room to make the move as simple as possible.

3. The reason for the two day delay is because I wasn't living at the house due to lack of water and internet. It was a holiday weekend.

4. I didn't transfed money from my savings account. I was simply getting half of the payment my brother sent to me via Chase pay.

5. I don't believe he ever waited for me to reply 4 days more than once. We talked one Saturday, I went to best buy the following day and the Monday I was waiting for an answer from the manager at the Best Buy. I replied on Tuesday when I had an answer.

6. He was given an estimate, just not on offical paper which Best Buy couldn't do.

7. I had the original packaging for the TV present for them to use. They couldn't figure it out and decided instead to just wrap it.

8. My friends never made false reviews. I posted a review on FB and Yelp. Several people I know, and some I don't, saw the review and your response and felt your behavoir as a business owner was rude and bad for business and they let you know. Instead of taking the advice you attacked, you then closed down your FB, deleted the ability to leave reviews (thus hiding mine, and reactivated - which in itself is shady and poor social media business ettiquiet.

9. Read his response here, and look at his yelp reponses. He is rude and mean and makes personal attacks and false claims to try and discredit anyone who has an issue.

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Tue, July 12, 2016

Good day,

When you wish hardship on men that have families and provide a honest legit service you are nothing short of the problem. The client was given options that were blantantly ignored. And that was at my mercy because I run a legit business. Any other company would have never entertained this claim. Two different pictures, 2 days later reported, never given proper estimate.  This is not the first time a fraud has attacked me and it will not be the last. See back light enhanced pictures below. The client is a FRAUD who has probably never taken accountability for anything. We refuse to be bullied by false claims.

Respectfully,

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

Tue, July 12, 2016

Good Day to all. When I started this company back in 2013 I made an oath to myself and the people I would serve. This oath was to be a honest business man. I have proudly done so otherwise my doors would have been shut inside of 6 months. In regards to the accusation above only one word comes to mind FRAUD.

This isn't the first time and it will not be last time for sure. I can not remain in business treating customers with a aggressive demeanor or approach them in any rude manner no matter the situation. It does not make business sense for myself or the men who work their tails off in this heat for our customers.

The damaged item in question is a TV that was abruptly discontinued due to the amount of complaints received by consumers for being defective. That's here nor there at this point. I openly expressed my apologies and deep concern regardless whether it happened on my watch or not.

I was never given the proper estimate for the repairs for the TV, I was expected to pay a here say amount that was the same price of the move. All of my efforts were completely ignored because the client felt entitled and privileged as this TV was not even purchased by her but a family member. Again that's here nor there.

I was still willing to find a solution. Not only did I walk into a hazmat situation(if you do not know what that means please Google it)I still wrapped and protected all items with integrity because I do not discriminate. Needless to say the clients brother which I moved as well in the completely opposite direction, was clean. Here is the break down of the move that I completed for a meager $480.00

The Move:

3rd floor

Highly and dangerously filthy

All of your belongings fully wrapped and blanketed.

All of your brothers belongings, fully wrapped and blanketed.

26ft Truck half full

3 TV sets on the end of the truck surrounded by Nothing

3 TV sets FULLY WRAPPED AND BLANKETED TOP TO BOTTOM and strapped to the wall at just the right tension.

1 stop in Chandler

Picked up appliances and more junk from the garage

Dropped off 1 TV along with brothers stuff

Drove back to Phoenix and unloaded your stuff

Last items unloaded where 2 TV's

We placed 1 TV on the living room floor and 1 in the bedroom, where you asked, and unwrapped them in front of you.

When I was informed about the TV I was speechless as I personally wrapped and protected the it along with 2 other TV's that were not damaged. I also watched my guy carry the TV flawlessly down 3 flights of stairs and place it AT THE END OF THE TRUCK IN ITS OWN SPOT AS THE TRUCK WAS HALF FULL.

I have extensive knowledge when it come to transporting this item. It would be career suicide to place a TV near items that could potentially bump into it or fall on it. The TV was padded on the bottom, back and front, strapped to the wall of the truck with enough tension to stop any bouncing or rattling but not to the point of compromising the integrity of the TV. The client emailed me 2 DAYS LATER with the first picture with the lines posted above in her shameless attack on myself and company.

Any other company would have told you to take the TV and do you know what with it based off that fact alone. No one knows what happened in your home during those 2 days. Suddenly on the 3rd day you send me a picture of the impact on the bottom of the screen. This picture is also provided by the client above. Now lets all take a moment to observe. In the first picture with lines there is no visible impact and its not that small that you wouldn't see it.(the back light would reveal this) Suddenly there is a impact on the bottom?

As I told the client I was willing to work with lines, but now there is a impact on the bottom of the screen? We placed the TV in question on the floor where you asked. We unwrapped it in front of you too. Now the pictures of the TV are on a TV stand? The 1 year warranty would have covered the lines, but not physical damage THAT WE DID NOT CAUSE!

This is when I came to the conclusion that when you tried to lift the TV you either did not lift it properly or you slammed it down and bumped it or possibly dropped it. The impact is in the perfect spot where an individual would grab to lift. You never grab and put pressure on the screen only the frame. 3 TV's transported in the same exact fashion and it just so happens that the biggest most expensive one breaks?

Im terribly sorry but I have come to my conclusion. If it wasn't for the blatant attack and slander on Facebook and Yelp I would have taken a hit on this move. But you are clearly a fraud that refused take responsibility for your actions. I have been doing this for to long. Your TV malfunctioned during the move which is not my responsibility.

That is a poor design on the manufactures end. I have moved literally hundreds of TV's, all brands and all sizes. The clients TV was not treated any different. If I would have caused the impact I would gladly compensate. There is just one problem THERE WAS NOTHING PACKED AROUND OR ABOVE THE TV. Each TV had their own space in the truck as the truck was half full.

In conclusion: 1. All 3 TV's were wrapped and strapped in the same fashion 2. When I received the picture with the lines 2 DAYS LATER, I was willing to work with you even though I know for a fact we did not cause that. We couldn't have. 3. At no time did insult you are try to string you along.

I was never rude or aggressive. In fact I waited on your replies in excess of 4 days or more than anything. 4. I fought with my insurance company to cover more but its not the policy I carry because we do not make amateur mistake like that. We have a combined experience in moving that totals 120 years. 5. You had to transfer money from your savings to your checking to complete a $480.00 move which was a red flag. 6. You are trying to hustle my company for free move or replace a TV I am not responsible for. 7. You were offered .60 per pound on the item per my insurance. I was willing to go beyond that until the clear evidence exposed that this claim was not legit.

**SPECIAL NOTE TO CLIENT*** Please do not contact my business and stop extorting me. I also will ask that you have your friends stop posting comments and false reviews when my business has never serviced any of them.

By the way thank you for posting those pictures, anyone can see that the second picture has an impact which the first picture does not. We did not cause that impact. Feel free to zoom on the pictures I provide which enhances the back light. This would reveal any and all imperfections. Look at the picture where the client personally circled. There is no crack. Zoom in. Its just not there. Do it on the color pictures too. Anymore slander will result in legal action.

Express Home Moving will no longer move LCD TV's without its original packing. Please know that you can always feel confident that your belongings are treated with the utmost care and respect. If a legitimate issue were to arrive, Express Home Moving will move diligently to resolve the issue. Your property and time matters! We stand by this 1000%. Feel free to call us 7am-7pm for a free quote. I will personally guarantee your satisfaction!
